    Improve CONNECTION with you audience with ONE simple technique: I enjoy your videos, but I feel it's worth communicating that I get turned off by the click bait titles of your videos. I actually can't think of a single video where I didn't get something valuable out of it. However, there are many videos that I have not watched simply because the titles imply to me that I'm going to get an over simplistic and inaccurate overview of a topic. I also feel like the titles over promise and therefore the videos under deliver. It's not that the videos lack value. It's just that the titles promise more than the video can fulfill. I feel like you underestimate (dramatically) the sophistication of your audience. The people who will enjoy the video that your titles promise will never enjoy the detailed videos that you actually make. So you attract people who don't want your content and push away people who do. Finally, I feel annoyed at times when you make sure to state your credentials at the beginning of every video. As I state earlier, your videos are nowhere near as simplistic as your titles imply. A viewer of your videos is unlikely to want to watch a single video of yours because it is clear, upon watching, that the topic is complicated and there is value in watching more. Your reputation will come with repeated viewing and it is unnecessary to justify your position of giving advice. The statement of credentials makes our relationship (of creator and regular viewer) awkward and uncomfortable.

      Hi @urouroniwa thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and for being a regular viewer. I really appreciate your feedback and your honesty-it’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought into this, and that means a lot to me.
      I understand your concerns about the titles and the approach I take with them. My goal has always been to make the videos accessible and appealing while delivering in-depth, valuable content. It’s a balance I’m constantly trying to get right, and your perspective helps me see how I might be missing the mark for some of my audience.
      Regarding credentials, I want to reassure viewers of the expertise behind the content, but I hear you on it feeling redundant or uncomfortable. I’m going to rethink how I can better integrate this so it feels more natural and less like a formality.
      Your feedback is a great reminder of who my core audience is, and I’m grateful for your continued support despite these frustrations. I’ll definitely take this on board as I refine my approach moving forward. Thanks again for your valuable insights-comments like yours are what help me improve and keep the content relevant.

      Looks like credentials started at 0:28 and lasted 12s. Not much time on them.

      I agree! click bait me once, click bait me twice, I'll never come back for a 3rd time.

    Okay, here is a question regarding endurance ride for time crunched cyclists. We know the longer they are, the more effective. But what is the minimum duration for it to take effect?
    If I can pull a 45 min endurance ride each morning, would that help? Or is it a case of more harm than good?

    I always talk to my camera like I’ll use the footage when I never do, so I’ll be an endurance god in no time

    I agree in the theory but the reason why I went to power based training is because the heart rate doesn't detect short bursts that can ruin a zone 2 ride and I can talk through even zone 4 power and HR of 150ish. A lot of people who aren't good climbers yell at me "NO TALKING ON HILLS", I can talk through just about anything save the hardest efforts so not really a useful tool.

    Thanks for the informative videos. I have heard about talk tests before, usually in terms of being able to talk relatively easily on the bike without having to interrupt what you are saying too often. Saying the alphabet is very specific, i like the idea, but at what speed should i say it? I reckon about 7s is a reasonable pace - is that the pace you have in mind?

    I’ve bookmarked this so I can come back until what the 3 variables mean is ingrained.

    I always thought the talk test was for when you don't have a heart rate monitor and you want to find zone 2 lol. If you already have an hr monitor, just go off that to find zone 2.

      Hi @brittle1 the talk test is indeed useful without a heart rate monitor, but even with one, more data points can help refine training. Heart rate alone can vary due to factors like cardiac drift or hydration. Combining HR with perceived effort or power can give a clearer picture, helping you get the most out of your ride time. It’s all about maximising efficiency and adapting in real-time.

      What about cardiac drift?

    • @IgMores
      @IgMores 3 месяца назад

      @@garyjacksonbt25 the increase in heart rate at constant performance over time, the longer you ride, the more the HR will increase

      There is truth in your humours post. I watch a lot of videos about getting stronger and faster... ftp this vomax that and I always come to the same conclusion... when i ride my bike a lot... I get stronger and faster by default. It's unavoidable... and when I apply these methods learned from videos, all of a sudden I find myself trying to find time to ride.. oh it's too hot... its too cold... I wanna got to the movies..etc. I find people I like to be around and I ride with them. That's it. But that doesn't make for a sustainable career making youtube vids.
