  • Hey house lovers and explorers! Today`s video is of another old rural farm house and I took Werner and Heather out to a few locations this day but I think this one was the best. A bit rough on the outside front veranda but it actually is still quite livable with a good clean up on the inside. Not live in since the 1980`s it was clearly a nice example of a sheep farm that has been absorbed in to a larger farm which is the case for so many of these old gems. Still the shearing shed stands along with many other outbuilding once part of the farming operation. Hope you all enjoy the explore, cheers for watching :-)
    Check out Werner and Heather here if you have not already- / @wernersadventures8330

    22:56 You could be right about spraying sheep but I've a feelin this may actually be a vacuum pump, it's is NOT a generator. Next to it, May be a milk collection reservoir for milking cows in the other area off to the right. I say all this ONLY because If you pause and zoom at 23:34, the pressure gauge there says "Southern Cross Milking Machines" on it's face.
    Also, this yank would like to know, do sheep have to be milked? Were sheep milked there as opposed to cows?
    🤔
    Ok, now I'm lost.
    Oh well...
    Thanks for the tour Paul!
    Stayin tuned! 👍🤠

    I wonder what that spare room that you referred to as the mud room was? A mud room is the first room as you enter to take off any wet and muddy shoes and clothing from outside and this room was after the kitchen, between the bathroom. I think it was more of a general storage area, maybe a pantry. Loved the sheep in the background and the opening drone shot! 🌟

      Bore water, hot water and maybe tank water (from roof runoff) for drinking. I have seen this on rural properties before

  • @DavidRoz1
    @DavidRoz1 3 дня назад

    3 taps - 1 hot 1 cold both bore (well) water middle tap is rainwater. The hay machine is a Reaper & Binder used to make sheaves of hay. The generator is a vacuum pump for milking macine, the guage shows the vacuum in the milk line, the milk line then goes to through the wall to be released into either a cooling coil or straight in to 8 or 10 gallon cans. I would think milking three cows at time as there looks like 3 head bails.

    The third tap over the sink was not uncommon around the time electricity arrived.The original hot water tap was from the slow combustion stove water tank.When power came on they would install a seperate electric hot water heater,tank and pipe.

    That's milking equipment for dairy cattle, it looks like a 4 stand, much more than home use so it's a commercial operation. Why milk cows there I don't know, is it in the Mallee? Maybe they milked sheep......
    It's '50s or '60s by the look of it and might have been electric, the motor has been removed. Initially it probably had a IC motor.
