i just got my slash 4x4 today after spending time researching my choiices of vehicals i cant wait to turn my slash into a monster slash.. so sick and aggressive! thanks for the vid and showing the close up of the parts needed
Love the upgrade! I wish the link in description to the tires would not be discontinued, do you know where I could get 4 tires like those for my slash?
Instead of lifting the body, you could lift the suspension and a-arms. If you want to do that also and lower the bod just a little here's the instructions. Either stiffen the shocks or ajust. The car would already come with little spacers to put in the shocks to stiffen them. Put the spacers in and that will just the ride height. Or you could ajust a arms. If u look at the a arms that r stock on the car there are little holes where the shock conects and there more holes on the shock towers. Adjust them in and they will also work
That’s the stock truck all around other than the big tires and body mounts. Links are in the description. I need to drop to a Lowe pitch pinion. It’ll help reduce the chance I’ve overheating. Thanks for watching ! It’s an awesome mod !
I somewhat agree. I liked the slash design a little better as far as maintenance goes. And it offered the ability to run manicured surfaces if I wanted. The E-Revo is a great choice if your desired terrain is more rugged. Pick one and enjoy ! I’ve loved getting back into the RC world !
@@ohiorectec6055 That's kinda where I am. I'm an old Nitro fan. 20 years ago if you wanted to run fast all day That's what you ran. I was drag racing funny cars and sedans and bashing first gen Revos and Savages. So I'm a bit bias to monster trucks I guess. Now I still have all those rigs but recently realized the electric RC game has come a looooong way. I already have a Trx4 and an scx24. Buuuut now my 7 year old daughter is wanting to get something also. Now I'm torn. Get 1/16 slash 4x4s to bash with her or get a couple 1/10 2wd? I'm worried she may lose interest and then I'm stuck with $400+ trucks because she wasn't into it lol. Thats why I was thinking the cheaper slash models.
Not too bad actually. I have the suspension set fairly stiff. So it rolls a little easier and is less stable at high speeds. Rough terrain is much improved though ! Thanks for watching!!!
Not so far. The weather temps have been in the high 90’s F here in Ohio. The speed controller gets pretty warm. I let the truck rest 15min between battery swaps.
We’ve still had no issues after about 10hrs of solid running (2s). I agree with others that gearing it down is a good idea. Just haven’t had time to do so yet. Thanks for watching !
This particular truck with remote (Item Number: TRA68086-24) can be had at most hobby shops for $420 plus shipping. From there you’ll need a battery and charger. Traxxas has a 2 Battery kit with charger for $230. The monster slash parts (tire & wheels and body mounts) was about $50-$60 depending on where you buy. Total in this truck is a little over $700. Traxxas makes several variants of the slash that cost less as well. Thanks for checking us out !
You never leveled the body out, had you done that you probably wouldnt have had to trim it where you did. You couldlve moved the rear body posts to the front to give it more lift if need be….. plus it looks stupid nose diving like that. jmo

Monster Slash looks great and the OBA makes it sound even better! I'm installing OBA in my UDR...
It’s an awesome truck !
Ohio here!!! Great looking Slash!
Thanks !

Looks like some places online are still carrying them. Not sure if proline has an updated model maybe ?

Hey - enjoyed the vid! Is that a LCG chassis or the normal slash 4x4 chassis? Thanks!

Cool video and I hope your boy has upgraded to the non training mode for his rc!!!
He’s getting there !
I've been looking into this setup but seems to make more sense to just get a revo if you don't have a slash already.

How did you put the audio into the car like that? Its so cool
That’s how this particular model came, but it can be added afterwards! See link below !

The slash is fun I threw a bronco body it with some proline mashers on it
How is the stock steering servo holding up against the bigger tires?
No issues so far. We’ve put about 7-8 hours of run time on it since the modification. Thanks for watching ! It’s an awesome truck !
is the OBA water proof? thanks
Seems to be ! Or at least Extremely water resistant
If you have 2 sets of the back pieces of the proline kit use both of them you do not need to trim the body
I just did this per this recommendation and it sits crazy high, if I lower it by one hole it rubs...am I doing something wrong?
Awesome video. How does it handle on asphalt as a monster slash?

Did you have any overheating issues throwing on bigger tires? Think about doing this to my slash.

@@ohiorectec6055 if you get the Traxxas esc fan, it will help keep things cool. I use Yeah Racing fans on the motor on a cheap heatsink.
@@ElSob94803 I’ll check that out ! Thanks !
@@ohiorectec6055 you are welcome!
Nice Mod 👊🏻
Did you have to use the nitro slash offset for the wheels?
Not with these wheels. They’re plug and play.
Very cool 🚗s
What part of Ohio are you in?
How’re the diffs/gears/motor holding up after 9 months? Any issues there? Looks awesome!

Good vid how much is it

Make sure u drop the gear ratio with bigger tires, or it will put wear on the engine, cool look though🤙
Haven’t done it yet, but yes, that’s great advice.

This guy isn't very nice to his kid..
