Best tip I ever got was to feel like I'm throwing it from the bottom left corner of my palm. Forces me to drive your elbow inside and thus, stay behind the ball.
You made mention that a Sublime would compliment this ball well. This has me wondering: 1. Have you gotten a chance to throw the Sublime and 1b. if yes would a review be coming for it? 2. Do you feel the Summit Peak would be a viable compliment in place of the Sublime seeing as they appear within the same spectrum of ball or do you feel the Sublime is ultimately better?
So, I've only seen the sublime go down the lane and have not thrown it myself. I like it more than the peak as the sublime is much less situational to my eye, and is easier to get into the pocket successfully. The peak is more of a high risk/reward type shape to me and has a place alongside the Harsh Reality, just not in a 3 ball arsenal. Hope that helps!
@@bowlersparadise2255 I totally appreciate the opinion! I have been debating for a few days on the Sublime, the Peak, or the Xponent to fill that 3rd spot after the Magic Gem and the Absolute. Feels like the market is flooded with options to fill that spot so hard to narrow down the selection.

Well, if you're looking for a change in direction downlane exclusively, you might be looking at the wrong stuff. All 3 of those pieces hook quite early and should be smooth off the spot. I think this magic gem would have the most angular look of the three, but that doesn't make it angular. Also the jersey came straight from Storm through their VIP pro shop program which im not sure if its publicly available or not. sorry!
Of all the recent SPI ball releases, what do you consider closest to a "Do everything type bowling ball" as you mention on this video? Xponent Pearl? Absolute Power?
That is a great question. The obvious answer is the Phaze 2, but also the Journey could be in that category, as well as the Hustle RIP and the Xponent Solid.
So, without sounding too stupid: if I normally use a Brunswick Rhino…would this ball be a significant compliment/add layers to my game as a novice bowler/southpaw? I tend to generate more rev and less raw power when I bowl…is that bad for a ball like this?
As a no thumb bowler, have any advice/excercise on staying behind the ball? As always thank you for the reviews and illustrating each pieces "shape".

If you like the Phaze 5 and that’s the only ball you have, pair it with a Phaze 2.
