He had already won by that point. He just threw random balls down in celebration, like he does when he needs 2 pins to win and he just fires his spare ball at the head pin. I would definitely not qualify this as a "missed spare" by any more. It was just a victory lap and he didn't feel the need to run real fast.
Love seeing the one hander with reactive winning. EJ is my favorite. I don’t hate urethane or two hands, but as an old school bowler and from Indiana, I love to see EJ win! Let’s go!
I think this was less about one handed or two handed and more about the lefties simply messing up each other's lines lol especially the two handed urethane throwers. That's always going to be their downfall. That and the unwillingness to at least try to switch to reactive.
@@akbarshabazz-jenkins7847it was this. The lanes got carried down, but it was worse on the left side because of all the urethane being thrown over there. I bowled with EJ at the Dayton open. This was probably in the 2013-2014 timeframe. I don’t think he had made it to the tour yet, but the guy bled Motiv. He would talk about them in between shots. Little did I know that kid would turn into this guy. Small world. Gotta say. One of the nicest people. Crazy to see where he is 10 years later.
Before last year there was a large group of people saying that he should leave because he could make tv but couldn’t win…I’m sure he’s glad he didn’t change.
Started bowling no thumb one handed earlier this year but since watching ej Tackett I switched to traditional one hand with the thumb. Isn’t easy but I like the challenge! Congrats ej!
Knowing angles and having that much power makes him almost unbeatable when he’s dialed in. EJ will be right there with Belmo, Earl, and PDW when it’s all said and done
Yep, usually it's the righties who have to deal with all the oil being pushed down by the urethane balls. Tonight both Jasper and Matt had to deal with all that pushed down oil, and even with balls as great as theirs, those 7 pins stood up way too often.
And the one hander reigns supreme. I didn't mind the two handers when it was a novelty early on with guys like Palermaa and Belmonte, but it's like more than half the people on tour do it now. As someone who grew up watching Norm Duke, WRW Jr, Parker Bohn III, Jason Couch, Chris Barnes, Patrick Allen, Pete Weber, etc, I always enjoy watching one handers more.
They had to deal with carry-down because there were 4 of them on the broadcast. Lefties have no clue how to bowl with traffic on their side of the lane and it really showed today.
EJ Tackett truly a freak of nature with a monstrous release. Also, Jesper's game was so sad and frustrating to watch.. Those breaks were unforgiving towards southpaw 2 handers today. Only Eric got something out of it, but wasn't enough to stop a dialled in EJ.
as a beginner I like the silence and space as I notice the difference in my score. Today barely was getting 150 bowling between two groups . when one group left and the other took a break I bowled 191
Fox Sports, Thank you for uploading the 2nd Show of the Stepladder Finals of the Pba World Championship. Also, Is Matt Russo going to bowl in the Pba Playoffs in a couple of weeks?
I don’t understand the ball choice by Russo or Svensson… ball choice was clearly the problem not finishing through the pins, they all finished toward the 8 pin not the 9 like they should have.
Matt Russo is an up and comer and has a bright future ahead of him. EJ is a generational Great who will go down in the annals of the PBA as one of its brightest stars, and he's in the middle of his prime. It would have taken a fantastic effort from Russo to keep this trophy out of EJ's hands.
SPOILER: We're gonna have an EJ Tackett oil pattern at some point. This dude is the realest deal, running the leftie ladder like a total champ. Unreal, love to see bowling excellence.
Reading comments everyone is crying for Jesper. What about Eric? Stone-9 likely changes the outcome of that match, and then things are pretty even as every leftie fights the transition hoping to find something that works.
