The Realm of the Elderlings is my all-time favorite as well. I couldn't believe how all those plot and character threads came together at the end - truly masterful! Now I listen to the audio books whenever I'm sick because I find being back in that world and spending time with those characters so comforting.
Book of Doors was my favorite of the year (so far) but you bring up really good points about it!! I went into it expecting modern storybook vibes which is why I think I was more okay with not being as scared of the villains. Also I bought my first Robin Hobb after watching your videos about her!!
Thanks for giving Howling Dark a shot. It's a personal favorite. I agree it's a book that requires a higher level of attention. Hope you are able to give it another go when you're in the right mood. There is some awesome stuff ahead
It's been a few months since you've done your monthly wrap up! I read 9 books in August: A Thousand Autumns vol 5, Associste Professor Akira Takatsuki's Conjecture vol 2-4, My Beautiful Man vol 1, SOS Hotel: No Rest for the Wicked, Daosim in Japan, Guardian vol 3, and Husky & His White Cat Shizun vol 6.
@@emmawatson1915 they are! I have been a Japanese BL (boys love) fan for many years, but over the last few years, I have also gotten in to Chinese danmei!
August 1. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, Edited by Scot Hicks & David V. Hicks 2. Clash of Kings by George RR Martin 3. Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness 4. Lady Audley’s Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon 5. The Visitors by Sally Beauman The only book I thought was just okay was Lady Audley's Secret, but everything else was great in August.
I think it’s so interesting how different books tastes can be! I found Where the Dark Stands Still to be very…. Meh. I hated the writing style (first person present) and found the characters to be fine. The ending was great, but wasn’t enough to save it for me 🤷🏼♀️
I read 11 books my favorites were Long past summer by noue kiwan Everyone on this train is a suspect by Benjamin Stevenson The mystery guest by nita prose
You convinced me to pick up Robin Hobb and now I’m doing a buddy read of the series with my dad. I just finished Live Ship trilogy (WOW 🥲) and my dad is way ahead, just finished Tawny Man lol. We would eat it up if you did a chatty video dedicated 100% to all the Hobb books, open discussion and spoiler-y lol
I work in a bookshop and I recommend Robin Hobb to as many people as I can 😅 I really hope she writes some more because they are AMAZING
You convinced me to repick up Robin Hobb and thank you thank you thank you! I am almost donre with the first trilogy and am obsessed.

Just an FYI... Salome is pronounced "Salomay". 😊
Without your videos I’d never have picked up Robin Hobb books. I’m 8 books in and utterly obsessed. I adore them. Thankyou 📖

I found six of the books in this series at a secondhand bookstore and jumped for joy! I can’t wait to start it, you’ve inspired me to read it
I really loved The Book of Doors, and so did my Mom. We both wish it would be made into a movie, or a sequel.
Yes! New Maureen Johnson!! I had no idea this was coming out! Gonna pick it up soon.
Totally felt the same way about the book of doors
I got The Seven Veils of Salome as an add-on this month from BOTM. Can't wait to read it.

Three words that will sell me on any book “Howl’s Moving Castle” ❤
Off topic but where is your necklace from? So pretty! Also, loved the video, as always!

Good afternoon my dear friend
I just hope they never try to adapt the Realm of the Elderlings for TV/cinema. I am terrified they are going to make a huge mess.
I’m definitely going to pick up the book of doors this fall!
Am I first?😮
Saloma? Its Salome
