Another approach as follows t(t-1) = 3; hence t^2-t = 3 Now numerator N = t^3+1 = (t+1)(t^2-t+1) = 4(t+1); from which t^3 = 4t+3 Denominator D = t5-t4-t3-t2+2t+6 = t^3(t2-t-1)-(t2-t)+t+6; back substituting D= 2(4t+3)-3+t+6 = 9(t+1) Hence the result y = N/D = 4(t+1)/9(t+1) = 9/4
