Black shirt needed to chill with his serve receive. He tried to slice everything but hit a bunch out or in a bad spot as a result. Plus it gave blue shirt a bunch of time to get to it with a forehand.
Black shirt is Arpit Dhir. His return of serve got him to the gold match so his game deserves a lot of credit. Blue shirt is Jason Renner and he is really talented at using his footwork to run around his backhand to create shots with his forehand.
I wonder why they run up to the net every single time lol. This was a game of passing shots. If someone is on a roll with passing shots you should stay back instead of running up immediately so that you can at least rally with them a little
You make a good observation, although if the person returning serve stays back, especially off a weak return, the advantage quickly shifts to the server as they are set up to hit an aggressive shot and then dictate the point. By approaching the net, you are applying pressure forcing your opponent to execute a pass under pressure.
Off a weak, i.e. short, return the advantage is already with the server. If you are playing someone good then rushing the net on a short return isn't putting pressure, it's suicide. Just look at 6:08. Blue shirt puts it middle middle and all black shirt has to do is look up, note his position and hit an easy passing shot. If blue shirt tries to cover line then he has enough time to look up and play it inside out instead. Blue shirt is certainly at a disadvantage if he stays back but by rushing net he's literally out of the point.
Wow, great ending
Pickleballerz has singles tournaments? Or is it only for high level players?
They definitely used to and when they put this on they had 3.5 and up I think
@@fourthshotpickleballdo they still have them? I would love to play in one!

Dude has a western grip. Must be tough switching grips all the time
yeah Arpit is western grip legend. He can create a lot with it and has a strong backhand as well.
