Most Catholics only abstain from meat on Friday’s during lent (before Easter). I practice traditional Catholicism pre Vatican II

I've always heard the long skinny 🥒 cucumbers are called English Cucumbers. I could be wrong just what I've heard working at 2-3 grocery stores.😇😇😇

I believe they originate from Asia but the English liked them so much because they are burpless that they started breeding their own varieties. I’m currently growing “English cucumbers” but they are a Japanese variety

We do his every time we go grocy shopping but it's not my favourite task. Try getting rid of bulky packaging when possible to help minimize the clutter.

- I know this was 3 months out from your Costco haul however beef can last for a year if properly wrapped with out burn, just like deer.

I had your video playing in the background while I was doing food prep and kept hearing you talk about a cheese I’d never heard of....Fay-dah. I kept rewinding to look for it and realized you were saying Feta. We say it as Fett-ahh where I live. Kinda sad to learn that it was not a new cheese that I should look for and try. 😂. We also call those those English cucumbers.

First time seeing your baby boy and he took my breath! He is gorgeous and he has your large eyes and a cute hair style. I was raised in a two block area of catholic playmates, me being only Lutheran. Friday’s were alway fish day . But after awhile that stopped and surprised it’s still going. Your videos are entertaining.

Looks healthy!!! They are English cucumbers or at least the cucumbers u normally buy in England. Those fruit rounds sounds awesome as it probably tastes like fruit loops but healthy!!! Nothing wrong wiv stocking up. I’ve made homemade bread but don’t always make it. I make it wivout our bread maker but my bloke will onli use the bread maker which is y we have it. He bought it. Ur kitchen looks mega organised!!! Ur kids sound like they love having a menu. Nothing wrong wiv not eating meat!!!

I am also Catholic but we only abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent. Do you adhere to pre-Vatican II practices? Just curious. I know a lot of Catholics who prefer the more old school practices for many things. There are some beautiful traditions that have been lost.

Even when it’s not Lent we always try to eat at least one meatless meal a week. Usually more. Not only does it reduce our carbon footprint by eating less meat, but there are so many great non-meat options for protein that have other health benefits. We love having baked potatoes with all the meatless toppings, veggie stir fry, portobello mushroom “steaks”, vegetable lasagna, salad bar night, borscht (Russian beet soup), cold gazpacho in the summer, etc. It also helps get the kiddos to eat and enjoy more veggies in their diet. I don’t know how many times I have told my son “You cannot live on chicken nuggets!!” 🤦🏻♀️

Totally honest question, when you plan bedtime snack do they get to chose those items ever during the day? I feel like I always have a great plan for bed time snacks during the week but then I am already out of thursdays snack because they alllll decided they neeeeeded a clementine 3 other times prior to that lol!! So I feel like its a struggle to budget certain foods for certain days, ya know what I mean?

How often would you say you eat out or order out a month? We are a family of 4 and eat out maybe once a month or twice. And by eat out that can mean going out or picking up. I only ask because I cook a lot and some people I know eat out so much more than us so I am wondering how you do it also?!
