Thanks bud, coming to do my first oil change on the x-trail as finding the nissan dealership costs to high to continue with them. I was trying to figure from the video, was that a 8mm hex or 8mm square, then looked at your notes which clearly stated 8mm square. Probably order the same silverline set from Amazon Uk, not bad at around a tenner. With respect to the drain plug washer, where did you get a replacement? Was it copper or steel plain washer a one of those special ones? Do you know what size it was so I can get one ordered please?
Apologies only just saw this. I actually didn't bother replacing anything on the plug/washer as i didn't have replacements either and didn't know what i'd need until i opened it up. I was fortunate to already have the oil drain key set as I was expecting a hex bolt under there. Hasn't leaked at all and didn't have to super tighten the sump plug or anything, just a light tug to seal it.
U just need the correct sized socket like in the video and when u turn it with the wrench do it slowly wih consistent force (rather than trying to crack a normal bolt free) as the tension is held by the rubber seal. Don't want to risk breaking the plastic housing for the oil filter. It shouldn't be too tough though.
Apologies just saw this. I had less than 1L left over. Kept that small bottle in the back for occasional top ups if required (though haven't really needed to to be honest)
