I love her so much!! As a black person, we are largely in an unrequited love affair with a genre of writing, that largely ignores us. Thank you Ursula K Le Guin for seeing me.
Thank you so much for posting this tribute to Ursula K. Le Guin. I found it very moving, especially some of the scenes from her early life with her family. She is one of my favourtie authors. I first read her in 1971. It was one of her early novels, 'City of Ilusions', that I found in my library and I greatly enjoyed it. I soon read the 'Earthsea' novels afterwards, and was beguiled by the beauty of her prose as much as anything else. When I was about fourteen, I read 'The Left Hand of Darkness' and was completely taken with it; its world building, variety, and the central relationship. It has proved my favourite of hers ever since.
This recording was an amazing discovery for me today! I found it after remembering her while learning about Asimov’s Foundation series coming out on Apple + soon. I hope that series does Asimov justice. I also wish Le Guin’s wealth of amazing stories could be brought to life in cinematic form with today’s technology in a way that does better justice to her talent than previous attempts that I’ve found (animated and live action, neither matches my mind’s view). Le Guin’s brilliance is still a strong influence in my life and I hope to see her stories continue to spread and strongly influence many others around the world.
I just went on Amazon to buy the Earthsea Trilogy. The books are only available (in Kindle) as individual titles. A quick scan of all titles available leads me to believe the heirs have set it up to maximize profit. I wonder what she would think of the bloodsuckers.
Many of the book-selling conditions are set by publishers, not the writer or writer's family. So please don't blame the wrong people. Also, I recommend you to buy them from Powell's Books, Portland's legendary independent bookstore, and one of Le Guin's favorite places. You can buy used or new books and they come in all different editions.

"By continuing to read her, she is still with us." I still refuse to believe that I never got to meet her. Or perhaps I meet her every time I read.
Thank you Literary Arts for making this available to the internet. It brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you for making this available. She was and continues to be the brightest star in my universe, and has brought me so much joy and inspiration.

I mean, fair point, but you bought them off of Amazon. Why not buy them through your local (radical) bookstore?
There

Every book purchase made from Amazon is a vote for a culture without content and without contentment.

She is not that important.
To people who do not read, of course she's not important.
Who according to you is important? A stupid/untalented singer like Bieber?
