I remember my father taught me how to make manjha and he gave me this name n said his father gave him this secret ingredient, when I asked for rumi mastagi the shop keeper asked me the purpose when I said for manjha he laughed at me.. Any ways it was damn expensive and I was obsessed to make the manjha the results were mind-blowing..with my self made manjha I cut 13 kites on the trot...and that was 22 years ago..😀

Great effort!. I have a question. How to make thin manjha, what ingredient you add to make it thin. Like some makers have thin manjha even for C28 (even thinner than 123). How to make C28 or 8400 thin.
common ingredients in English:
Glass: Very finely crushed glass in powder form is used. Any glass bottle is crushed and sieved through a cotton cloth to get it in fine powder. Soda bottle, beer glass green colour is used but Champaign glass is used by pro makers as it gives extremely sharp edge to the thread.
Rice and starch: Boiled rice and cooked starch is required.
• Aluminium oxide
• Colour
• Husk or isabgol
• Dragons blood or khoon kharaba a resin gum of a tree
• Maida lakdi it is a bark of taj or a type of cinnamon
• Boric powder or suhaga
• Chalk dust or powder
• Emery powder or silicon carbide an industrial abrasive
• Taal Makhna a herb
• Majufal powder a herb
• Loban a herb
Rice, Glass powder, Borax are common ingredients and manjha can't be made without these at all. Rest are optional.

Actually some of the materials we've used by knowing their chemical properties,, and for the materials whose chemical properties are not known exactly to us,, we took trial and error method...till now haven't talk to any maker but have seen their works on RUclips..

that's one's own choice, most people prefer to buy but some like to make their own and treat it as an art which it definitely is.
Doing this way doesn't mean that you will cut 100 kites every time you fly one but If you are a serious kite flyer then you get a slight edge especially in tournament-style longer paach .

No.. actually glass Powder is the most essential ingredient
You can use sanded tiles grout powder instead of glass powder which is coarse enough to cut the thread.
