    I believe this is Denise from loomahat? I notice this video is from 2012. This is probably from before loomahat. She has grown so much! Denise is definitely my favorite. She is very helpful and clear in her steps. She even shows how to fix mistakes which I love:)

    Your tutorial is the best one by far, I just got my looms, hopefully they will help me build up my inventory for the baby and chemo hats I donate. I usually crochet them by hand, takes about half an hour to make a small one. Looking forward to trying them out. Thank you and God bless.

    Hi Penny! Yes I would, for the newborn hats.Think Goldilocks.. The next loom up would be too large, very uncomfortable and possibly risky to make a big hat for a baby. The next loom down is the one I use for doll hats and Barbie dresses - way toooo small.

    Does anyone have any advice on how you might be able to hide or tie off the start point?

  • @missionboundcreation
    @missionboundcreation  11 лет назад

    Hi Laci, Thanks for asking. The skein of yarn always has a loose strand on the side. The other I pull from the top or bottom. You sometimes end up with a big clump of yarn. In that cause just cut the yarn - untangle the clump - tie the ends of the yarn back together - keep knitting as if noting happened. It beats buying two skeins of yarn for every project. Hope that helps - if not let me know I make a video to explain.

  • @missionboundcreation
    @missionboundcreation  11 лет назад

    Hey Allison, I most often just use one skein of yarn. They always come with one loose strand in the middle and I then pull one from the top or the bottom. Takes a bit of a battle and sometimes I end up pulling a a knotted clump. If I can't find a end (a loose strand) - I push it back in and try the other end. It gets ugly but works well. .. .. I live in a small house so I have to keep the inventory low. One skein per color.... hope that helps

  • @missionboundcreation

    Hi Katy - the newborn hat is made with the small blue 24 peg loom. Some find that it is very small but baby yarn is soft and stretches well. You can use the small loom for larger dolls like American girl and to make adult socks. :)

    Hi Diann - First - thanks for your kind words. About your question - I think you might be missing a peg as you work you way around the loom- Here is what works for me.. I change the color on the second to last peg.. may sound a bit silly but that change in the look of the loom as I am coming around helps me stay on track. Try it - let me know if that helps.

      Cool Lee Ann - I find that you go much quicker by loom knitting than crochet.. Plus you don't have to concentrate when looming like you do when you crochet. I have mild ADD - need stuff where I don't have to focus to much.
      Hope you like the site !

    Great Allison !!! Thanks for letting me know I appreciate that big time. now you have to make more .. and if you close one end , fill it with poly-fill, close the other end - you have a ball. If you make two hats and fill them and sew them together you can make the little doll in my profile picture.. there are LOTS of stuff you can make once you know how to make this little hat. RUclips doesn't allow links in the comments - so Here is the closes I can get - go to LoomaHat . com for more ideas.

    • @missionboundcreation

      Yes - Use the 31-peg. Go to my loom knitting website for the correct number of rows. Loomahat dot com. The number of rows determines the size of your hat just as much as the size of your loom. The more rows you add the wider the hat.
