I thought you were going to lock the doors after taking a bite of that cheesecake. I loved Wendy's black sheep of the family story. I have 3 children, one of them is like Wendy. I'm so glad she followed her dream. Her cakes were beyond perfect. Thanks for finding and sharing this gem Sheena and Thomas. And of course, thank you Zadie for keeping them out of trouble.
I agree! So awesome she’s pursuing her passion and living the dream! Those cakes are amazing and that cheesecake really blew me away. Wouldn’t mind a piece right about now! Thanks for watching mate. Cheers, Sheena
Thomas Sheena and Zadie! I’m not a sweets person but oh my goodness! I wish I could be there trying all off that with you guys! Pandam is one of my favorites from our trip to Thailand and I need to find a local place I can find it here cause like your baker said it’s not common for me locally either! Miss you guys so much and love all your videos! Let me know the next time you do a travel group cause I’ll definitely try to be there! Maybe I can get Kel to join too?! 😂
😍😍😍 so glad that the Thailand trip got you onto pandan Jaci! You would still love this place despite not being into sweets I reckon. Hope we can do another group trip one day soon- it was so much fun being with you all in Thailand. And hahaha Kel TOTALLY would have to come- wouldn’t be the same without her 😆 thanks for watching mate, hope you’re well! Cheers, Sheena
it was you who introduced me to pandan, you had some delicious pandan treats in one of your videos and mentioned it is one of your all time favourite taste, so I searched for it and found some pandan leave extract to buy. It was nice to find this and to make my own desserts with, I felt instantly in looooove with this really unique flavor, but I really need to have some more authentic pandan treats in my life, so I hope I will eat them one day 😁 thank you so much for this episode, enjoyed as always, happy easter and have a wonderful time
That’s right!!! I’m so happy you found the extract to purchase- I honestly never get sick of the flavour. I adore it. Thanks for watching mate, hope you had a great Easter! Cheers, Sheena
I love the big ol round plain moist Pandan spongecakes from the Asian Grocers. Could eat one of those all by myself. But the Pandan Lamington and Swissroll looks next level! ❤ from Melbourne, Australia
Those are so good aren’t they! So soft and delicious. Thanks heaps for watching this one. Watch out for Melbourne videos on the channel very soon. Cheers, Thomas
Here I sit on Easter Sunday eating carrot cake and watching these gorgeous cakes with mouthing watering flavors...suddenly, this carrot cake is soooooo boring!!🙄 And then throw in those delicious drinks...😮 once again, wishing I were with you❤
Yum I want to taste that taro cheesecake. Also the Matcha wow. When we have enough money I know where me and my husband will go! I feel like I’m watching a real TV show on RUclips, your channel is very professional. Awesome thank you for the video.
Wow I’ve often driven this patisserie but never stopped in. I will definitely try thanks to your video! My mouth is watering lol they all look so good 😋
Folds Patisserie is *definitely* going on the list for my next visit to NZ! I love a good cake and those look *so* good! Pandan is one of my favourite flavours and not all that easy to get here in Scotland.
Here's an unusual cake that I found in Malaysia that I mentioned recently to Singaporean-British chef Liz Haig (@Auntie Liz). Imagine the Malaysian and Singaporean breakfast staple nasi lemak. Now imagine a basic uncooked-style cheesecake. Then bend your brain around mixing the two together to get, you guessed it, nasi lemak cheesecake. I forget what the biscuit base was made of or contained, but the cheese portion had coconut cream and coconut rice mixed in and it was topped with ikan bilis (the dried and deep-fried wee anchovies) and peanuts. I think the cheese layer may have been topped with pandan jelly and the peanuts were in that. I've got a photo of it somewhere. My mind is a little foggy after what is probably ten years since I tried it. Totally bizarre, but the staff in the café at the Boh tea plantation in the Cameron Highlands to the north of Kuala Lumpur reckoned it was one of their best sellers. What did it taste like? Well, after getting my mind around the fact that this was NOT something sweet, per se, but savoury, it was okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to look for it, though.
Yea, it can definitely be bewildering if you’ve never tried some of these ingredients but there’s no better place to start I reckon! Thanks for watching 💜 Cheers, Sheena
That looks like a nice cafe! Although let’s be honest, matcha and pandan… Everything is just East Asian and Southeast Asian, isn’t it 😁 Maybe they can someday include South Asia, Central Asia, West Asia etc by introducing ghee or fermented horse milk into the mix or something 🤭 Cheers!
I have three friends I could not bring there....they would be dead. I know I could get down one of each dessert, but I would have sleep for two weeks. Everything looked so good 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Actually I don't think it was that good. I heard no HOLEY MOLEY from a special someone.
😂 they were absolutely delicious! I don’t know where the holy moly has gone 😆 It’ll be back I’m sure- it’s no reflection on the food! Thanks for watching mate. Cheers, Sheena
Right. Though in fact you called it "Tamaki Makaurau Auckland". Quite the mouthful. Imagine if Thai people suddenly started to run around calling Bangkok by it's "proper" name of "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit". Of course perhaps the absurdly exhibitionist and cumbersome "Tamaki Makaurau Auckland" is necessary at this stage because until a couple of years ago most Aucklanders had zero idea what "Tamaki Makaurau" even meant. Presumably the eventual goal will be to eliminate use of the name Auckland.
People speaking Thai don’t normally say that though. It would be Krung Thep Maha Nakhon to a Thai speaker or Krung Thep it short form. I don’t even understand what example you’re trying to set there. Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland flows nicely off the tongue. If you don’t like it that’s your issue and not ours. Please don’t fill our comment section up with this.
@@ChasingaPlate Indeed. People speaking Thai wouldn't normally say that. Similarly, people speaking English would not normally use two names for the same thing, in two different languages, spoken in succession. It's a cumbersome and nonsensical piece of cringe unique to contemporary New Zealand.
I had the black forest cake when i was there. It was really dry and bland. Was expensive for something so tasteless. The decaf coffee i got was burnt. Overall its not a place i would visit again or recommend.
That’s such a shame you didn’t have a good experience- we’ve never encountered that and have eaten there many times. Did you speak to them about it? Cheers, Sheena
Hey Sheena and Thomas, I just wanted to say you may not get the most views but you are the most natural and knowledgeable vloggers out there.
Hi Robert, this is such a lovely message to receive. Thanks so much for watching our content and for the kind words 🥰 Made our day! Cheers, Sheena

I'm just wondering what is actually wrong with calling Auckland, Auckland?
Nothing. Same deal with there being nothing wrong with calling it Tāmaki Makaurau. Thomas
