    The Koreans are not angry or frustrated when they loose and they are always respectful to their opponents.

    I wouldn't have expected Kim to get blown away like that. All credit to Szilagyi.

    2:22 look at Szilagyi's precision as he waits to counterattack Kim's rushed attack. Phenomenal distancing tactics

    This wasn't a bout, it was a clinic. A dissection.

    @Sydney Sabre:
    What does the "L" in "L2" mean?

    • @samsignorelli
      @samsignorelli 6 лет назад

      It was the finals. L4 would be semis (the round of 4), L8 quarter finals, etc.

      @ sam signorelli
      Why not just R-16, R-8, R4, Finals?
      KISS?

      L16, L8, etc are just as simple.

      What does the "L" stand for in your part of the world?
      In N America "L" is not commonly used.
      We usu. use Final (A1), Semi-Finals (B1 & B2), Qtr Finals (C) etc.
      I have been fencing, organising and reffing fencing since 1965...

      I have never seen A1 for finals, or other ways you describe it, even at US Nationals. Usually it's either L something or the Round of something.

    This guy has to ingest any mind-altering drugs... He's performing the parries virtually as the opponents initiative movement takes place
    It's a mystery how a human neuronetwork could even perceive the input that fast.
    Well, lets keep pushing beyond the limits and see where it leads us 10 years down the road.

      Parries are hard but they don't require like insane reaction time.

      Obviously Aron has a good eye and situational awareness for what his opponent is doing as well. The Koreans are known for their speed and pretty insane (from a coaches' perspective) lunges, but not so much their feints. Aron is picking up on that early. And his attack in prep, parry after, you will see that he waits on his opponent to bring their blade to 3 position before making his move. Kim obviously thought he had at least one more advance he could or should make before lunging.
