Now you can understand what northern gardeners have to face. In my area it’s constantly raining in fall and then the big blow comes in from Canada overnight and your not fully prepared.😢 Then it’s the big wait until spring and you can be outside again. I have a love hate relationship with our weather. ❄️💚🙃
Wow! That is amazing that you accomplished all that in one day (and then got it planted!)! I was also impressed with your skills of building the raised beds. I would not even know where to start. The redwood looks beautiful and will last a very long time. Maybe the helicopter pilot is a subscriber who wanted to watch you build these, LOL! Well done J&J!
Oh Janey, the beds look great! It adds a whole new dimension to your garden. That said, all I could think of was your soil instructor from last weeks master class cringing! But you’re not alone… with all the rain our grounds are FINALLY easy to work in and I’ve been doing the same! I can’t wait to watch this beautiful tiered garden bed burst forth with flowers!
@@DigPlantWaterRepeat For years, I have been periodically scouring RUclips for local to me (larger Sac area) gardeners and there aren't many with a RUclips presence. Very excited when I found your channel last summer and quickly caught up. Love seeing what you're doing in our region.
Beautiful!!! Idea for the little *side gutters*: fill with gravel or pebbles! Your husband did that on the other side of your front yard last year, and it looked so nice!!
I feel like, if I wasn't able to do anything else with that birdbath, I would use it like a planter. I could maybe grow some pansies, or some herbs. Just something that could make my garden look even cuter! (You got my imagination going with that birdbath.) Lol!
Hi. Great job guys. Looks amazing. Can imagin those areas all planted and looking very welcoming and beautiful. Great video minus that helicopter...lol. 👍👌🌿💚
Janey can you put a beautiful hollow fake rock or something where the bird bath is? I think it would look nice. Even put a pile of stones across the area in front of the first raised bed. What do you think? The beds look fantastic!!
It’s going to be a great growing season for you, I can tell. The beds looks spectacular! Shea will always look at those beds with beautiful flowers growing and feel such pride that she helped create them. ❤
Havent finished watching yet but I just had to say- What a GREAT IDEA Janey!!! to do the tiered, raised beds! The bird bath would look so much better further back! Could you think of something else to put there, & then move the bird bath further back, possibly in the middle? Or maybe even not even putting anything, & planting something trailing like supertunias to just hide it?
Those raised beds look so beautiful! I love the color of the redwood. The stakes you used to install them are such a great idea too! I would suggest moving your birdbath now to the center of your new raised beds, as I think it would add a nice accent. Planting up that small front area will help mask anything that is there in the very front of the garden. Nice job!!
She showed us the secret that lies beneath that birdbath in another video. There is a city utility post there that can't be moved, so she found a hollow birdbath stand to hide the ugly post. Even though it is off center, it is better than when she took it off and showed us that ill placed post.
Wow Janey looks awesome have you thought about putting some pea gravel or bigger around the box. I believe your eye would not notice the gap between the driveway and wood. Just a thought…..
Hooray!!!! You guys dod a great job! They look so nice and make the area look bigger! You are going to LOVE your raised beds!! 🧡❤️💜💙💚 Liz from California
Bravo! It looks amazing, so neat and tidy. I cannot wait for Spring!! I myself am buying starters this year, last year's garden beat me up lol I bet the helicopters were taking video of how high the water is over the cosway.
It looks beautiful, love the red wood, should last a long time. Hope your class was/is fun today, look forward to hearing all about it. You guys have a wonderful weekend.
Y’all did a great job especially your little helper. It will definitely make growing flowers easier now that it is not on such a steep grade.have a great weekend.
You guys have done a great job!! It will be much more functional, and you won't lose any of that precious soil. Hope you plant some pretty plants in the front where it has that 2 foot section where the bird bath is. Have fun it!!
Oh Tristan, I was shocked by how fast we got it done! I think it's because I was planning this project for so long, I could execute without even thinking about it! Thanks for watching and your sweet comment!
Wow, the raised beds look better than I imagined they would!! I can’t wait to see them all filled in. You guys built that super fast too! Excellent job
I see alot of clay soil. I would advise adding Gypsum powder spread over your raised beds. Leave for a month until it sinks into your soil......or remove clay soil and add compost or untreated woodchip mulch, to dry out your beds before planting. Looks great! Jo.
Looks beautiful! But we all want to know... What was the helicopter circling around for? In my neck of the woods, we have a web neighborhood watch called NEXTDOOR and we can usually find out neighborhood going ons.
Hi Janey kinda off topic. What about growing California state flower. . . Delicate sweet poppies. They're getting harder and harder to see them when driving Maybe you can encourage more cali gardeners to plant some!
Wow!! what a transformation, that looks so nice. It's a beautiful thing seeing the family work together on a project. 😄 P.S. It looked like the drill bit was just above the pipe cut out toward the house. . . OR it might have been a small branch? Hope you found it.
For strip adjacent sidewalk I would put natural river stones and a small boulder or two to encourage flow to drain. Dogs will just pee on any bushes you plant there!🤣😉😊
Looks great! I watch a RUclipsr that is a former California police officer. He advises if you see a police helicopter hovering in your area to get to safety.
the raise beds look so good. Changes the look of your flowers garden completely. makes it look more tidy and pretty.
The raised bed was a great idea. The area actually looks bigger.
Thanks Margaret! I totally agree!
You, Jason and Shea did an excellent raised bed job. Looks great!
Thank you Elizabeth! 💗

Hahahahaha that’s too funny!
Oh Janey, the beds look great! It adds a whole new dimension to your garden.

I can’t wait to watch this beautiful tiered garden bed burst forth with flowers!
Haha you are so right! I was thinking the same thing, then thought... well I NEED to get it done! 😆 Thanks so much! 💗
A suggestion: How about pea gravel on the sides and in front where the bird bath is? Maybe or not? It looks great. I love the look.😊
The first thing that crossed my mind when I started this video is: She should be a Disney Princess 👑 💚💚💚
Omg I love that, second job maybe? 😆💗
Digging in dig is good medicine!
The beds look great and it will be so much easier to manage and amend the soil on that slope for planting. Can't wait to see it filled with flowers!
Oh I so agree with you! I feel like its going to be a much more manageable space now! Thanks for watching!

I am so excited for you ‼️I love your hat, too. 😊
🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷🌸
🌳🌿GORGEOUS 🌿🌳
Congratulations 🎉
Excellent work ‼️
Janey these looks amazing. I have multiple slope areas as well. Happy to hear the rain stopped and you can get to working in the garden again.😊
Wow Janey, you are a busy woman. You are inspiring. Xx
Looks AWESOME!! I Love it! Can’t wait to see it in bloom!🌷🌸🌺🌻
Love the idea of a raised bed there. I may steal this idea for my driveway garden! Thanks!
Beautiful!!! Idea for the little *side gutters*: fill with gravel or pebbles! Your husband did that on the other side of your front yard last year, and it looked so nice!!
Yes!! I think that is a perfect idea Sandra!
Wow! Janey, it gives this space more structure and as others have mentioned, it makes the space look bigger.
Janey can you put a beautiful hollow fake rock or something where the bird bath is? I think it would look nice. Even put a pile of stones across the area in front of the first raised bed. What do you think?
The beds look fantastic!!
I agree with the thought of moving the birdbath to a better location. Something lower and less obvious would look more balanced.
Oh I love how that turned out! Looks so neat and organized already!
It looks professional and can’t wait to see it progress with beautiful flowers.
Thank you so much for saying that!
HI Janey 🌺 well done ,you all did abeautiful work the beds cut flowers looks amazing . Have anice day 🌻🌺🌻

It’s going to be a great growing season for you, I can tell. The beds looks spectacular! Shea will always look at those beds with beautiful flowers growing and feel such pride that she helped create them. ❤
Thank you so much for saying that Karen! I hope she does 😍
Love the idea , one change I would have made is putting the stakes behind the boards for more cleaner all over look.
Fantastic! Amazing you guys were able to knock it out in one day wow!
What a great idea! Nice team work.
Well done Janey & Jason.. the raised beds look great! So excited for you Janey! It is going to look amazing with all your beautiful flowers 🌸 ☘️

Thank you so much! I could move the bird bath but then I would just have the ugly equipment under it to still hide! Thanks for watching! 💗
Yes! Good memory Payton! 💗
Wow Janey looks awesome have you thought about putting some pea gravel or bigger around the box. I believe your eye would not notice the gap between the driveway and wood. Just a thought…..
It looks amazing Janey! The tiering gives the space structure and the flowers will really shine.
Thanks Sydney! So excited to get some blooms in here!

Beautiful Janey. I am very impressed with your building skills as well as your saw skills !!!
Great looking beds, such a great solution. It seems like you still have extra soil? Those bulbs and plants will be so pretty!
Bravo! It looks amazing, so neat and tidy. I cannot wait for Spring!! I myself am buying starters this year, last year's garden beat me up lol I bet the helicopters were taking video of how high the water is over the cosway.

This project has inspired me to do something similar in my backyard. I am so happy for you and excited to see your beautiful flowers.
Oh yay Andrea! It was actually easier than I imagined it would be. The digging was the worst part and I'm sure that was half because it was so wet!
Wow, the raised beds look better than I imagined they would!! I can’t wait to see them all filled in. You guys built that super fast too! Excellent job
Same Joni! As they were coming together I was getting more and more excited! Thanks for watching and your sweet comment
I see alot of clay soil.

Thank you Allen! I appreciate that!
Janey found Summer bulbs at COSTCO today in California just wanted to let you know
Looks great!!!
Looks beautiful! But we all want to know... What was the helicopter circling around for? In my neck of the woods, we have a web neighborhood watch called NEXTDOOR and we can usually find out neighborhood going ons.
I truly enjoy watching you develop your garden. Did you show how you got the irrigation under the sidewalk?
Hi Janey kinda off topic. What about growing California state flower. . . Delicate sweet poppies. They're getting harder and harder to see them when driving
Maybe you can encourage more cali gardeners to plant some!
The timing of this video is perfect. I am thinking through a similar project.
How are you securing the corners?
Was wondering about the corners as well.
They look great- nice job!!
And I hope the police took care of the problem!!😳🤪
Hey Janey, are your rain barrels overflowing?
Looks great! Maybe the helicopter was circling to get storm and flood damage footage?
Did Jason find the drill bit?
Wow!! what a transformation, that looks so nice. It's a beautiful thing seeing the family work together on a project. 😄 P.S. It looked like the drill bit was just above the pipe cut out toward the house. . . OR it might have been a small branch? Hope you found it.
Thanks Heidi! We found it!! 😆
For strip adjacent sidewalk I would put natural river stones and a small boulder or two to encourage flow to drain. Dogs will just pee on any bushes you plant there!🤣😉😊
Thats a great idea Kristi!
How does your neighbor feel about your raised bed? Just curious? ❄️💚🙃
Looks great! I watch a RUclipsr that is a former California police officer. He advises if you see a police helicopter hovering in your area to get to safety.
Janey, it’s a good idea to blur your license plate and house numbers for privacy….
Great Job! It looks awesome!!
