  • Thank you for visiting my channel. I love all things that feel organic and emotional via sound. I've been playing guitar about a year now (seriously) and do not know why I waited to focus on it. Since I bought my first electric last year I've been uploading my practice. I hope you'll join my journey. Grab your guitar no matter what level and join me! Mostly uploads of my practice and ideas for the day. The people that come by my channel here are all the most amazing souls from all around the world sharing one fantastic fact that music unites. Please feel free to join in and if you have a channel let me know and I will support you back best I can! Nothing feels better to me than a great friendship joined by beautiful music. Be well!
Today I give my thoughts on a recent purchase...The 2019 Squier Limited Edition Seafoam (surf) green tele by fender. It is a retail price of 179.00 USD and often on special for 129, 119, even 99 on some deals. Keep your eye out and do not think too hard on it. If you get a bad one you can swap. Mine and many I've spoken to get good ones. No complaints from me, but watch this video and my unboxing to see more. Peace to you and yours from Mine! The atmospheric Blues are my choice and genre I think I was born to share!

I just got mine delivered this morning, unwrapped it, tuned it up and plugged it into my Hotrod Deluxe. Boy what a guitar! I bent the strings all over the place and it stayed in tune and the tone is superb. Surf green is just the coolest color too! It’s got the twang, it’s got the beautiful fat neck pickup tone, I am so glad I went for this. I got one for my daughter as her first guitar, two tone brown. Straight off the rack the sound and quality were amazing. Just looking at guitars on the rack it was the only one she wanted. After she had it a couple of weeks I went back to buy myself one (always wanted to learn guitar but never got around to it) but they were sold out. I settled for a Yamaha Pacifica 012 which is another incredible guitar for the price, but there's something about the tele bullet. It was a nice feeling as a parent to walk out the store with your kids dream guitar without breaking the bank.P.S. Her teacher now wants a tele after playing hers during lessons, and he's a Gibson blues man. He knows what he's talking about and says the bullet is an awesome guitar.

That is the best comment I've ever had. I'm a dad too !! In 2005 2006 I bought my son a a few but ultimately the Squier standard 20th Anniversary he got for his second one was the one he played most. That was until the Ibanez and to this day he plays Ibanez. Premiums and prestige series. He is so amazing. In fact he is on one of my videos ..I think titled My son shows the bullet Tele can shred. Hahahahahaha. Man you truly man my day. Knowing another young musician has been inducted as well as an adult and still got a great deal makes me happy! I only knew chords when I taught my son. I was drummer. And I didnt pick up guitar until he moved after grad. I missed those sounds out of his room. So i bought my first electric. MIM FSR david gilmour vibe. Since 2018 I've been uploading all my practice. Acquired the classic vibe and a few others. The Bullet was my first Brand new guitar. And i was so amazed i made this video. Low output pups that sound right for a Tele. Set up with low action right out of the box. I would gladly pay full price for this. I just bought this same one last week. Yes frets definitely need polishing for sure but fret sprout on only on 1-2 frets I could find and not that bad. Pickups I'm changing because I want to not because I have to, the factory ones are actually very good despite the price. Also getting new electronics (4 way Emerson pre-wired) and a Switchcraft input jack for reliability. To be honest I've bought guitars that were 3-5 times this price that weren't as well built or sounded anywhere near as good. Spot on with your review!
Really glad you mentioned getting the pro-setup also. It makes all of the difference in the world and can save you a lot of money in the long run. The pickups on this absolutely floored me how good they were, I, like you, am changing because I want my own signature sound but for anyone getting their first or even a backup Tele, you can't beat this deal!

I know I've seen SO MANY CORK SNIFFER VIDS and they claim to love what they feel and hear. I believe they are sometimes just calculating the buyers price justification ...i do not judge to each his or her own. I just believe this kind of deal can get into more hands and more fresh music can be made rather than bragging how much you spent we can brag how beautiful the music is at a HUGE FRACTION of the cost. Also collect the colors and build them up with whatever we feel. Thank you so very much my friend.

I figured I would relic is up or make it my beater. Now I fear getting her dirty. Hahah.
My final or latest update video on it will come next couple of days. I've had it since this video giving time to thoroughly play and look it over. The only thing I had was a tiny little piece of solder drip next to the control plate. I think the sales are extremely mild blemish as many say they find if any a tiny little strange mark or etc. If that's the case I'll buy them all day. Also though the guitar was set up great and intonated too, the height of the action is a bit high for me but for teles its probably right on. Anyway man, prepare to be blown away unless you already know and have played them. Should anything happen, bring it to the store or they will ship you another. Some call and tell them about their little spot and get damn near 50 off rather than returning it but I'm not that way, I feel i got what i played for at least and then some. I got one of these about a year ago (2018) and this is a great guitar. It sounds great and it plays great. The one thing I did upgrade is the tuners - to locking tuners. You wouldn't need to do that, I just did it for personal preference. The really cool thing about it is the neck. It's unvarnished. However, the more you play it, the more it smooths out and feels like you've been playing it for 20 years and gets its own, your own hand made, varnish.

    • @robertclarkguitar

Better tuners , better pickups and a up graded switch plate with better pots. Take it to luthier for a professional set up. Then you will have a super guitar. Most of this work you can do yourself. The luthier will work on the frets, adjust in the saddle, nut and pick up height. I own both the bullet and the affinity tele. Mainly because I’m a sucker for the different colors they come in. They are both a great value. A Mexican telecaster or Stratocaster‘s are worth the money if you can afford them as well. Some people are on tighter budget and the squires are a great way for them to own quality instruments. Even if you don’t upgrade the parts it’s worthwhile to take your guitar for a professional set up. There are good videos on how to polish the frets and file a sharp fret ends.

casey lee Every now and then, Squier comes out with a bang for the buck champion model that really smacks it out of the park - the current Bullet Tele is a perfect example. The first batch of Infinity Strats made back in the mid 90’s, with the small headstocks were like that too, astonishingly well built, and effortlessly playable instruments.
I bought a ‘96 for my Niece as her first guitar, put a Seymour Duncan Little ‘59 in the bridge, and WOW! I liked it so much I bought a ‘99 for myself, and I regret eventually trading it in. (I don’t even remember what for....😆) I’m very happy with my current Fender Strat, it’s my #1 forever, but if I ever come across one of those early Affinities again, I might not be able to resist adding to the arsenal.😁👍

100% agree with this video. 23 years playing. I own a U.S. Select malaysian blackwood Tele, a handful of MIM teles's, a Vintage V72. $129 I paid in Oct. for the red sparkle finish. Put an unfinished maple neck and a pearloid pickguard on it. (Purely for looks, played fine stock) Left everything else stock. Intonation was dead on out of the box. Even after swapping necks, no setup needed. Pickups are solid. The frets will feel scratchy on bends (sometimes the fret glue residue causes this) but that can easily be polished off. 15 years ago these were awful. Times have changed.

Still yes in 2021. My gig Tele is a Jackson Custom Shop (Washburn Laredo). I have played for hire since 1969. Nearly all cheap guitars need fret ends done, so just dress them. Mine came intonated, set up fine, and tightened truss rod just a touch and set saddles to my liking. I'll upgrade mine to gig with, but out of the box it is a great Indonesian build and for $149, well worth it in 12/2021. Solid poplar body sounds good. The fake gotohs are way better than the old cursed 'trapezoid' garbage that they even put on MIM Fenders. Also, the build quality (and quality control) is better than my new Bullet Stratocaster (yep, Mike Rutherford owns a few, too). And yep #2, I just got the FSR butterscotch with the (basic) maple neck, and it also is a five star best buy. The 42mm nut width my pref over the narrow 40mm Affinity width, and I have medium-only hands. Modern C neck is spot on.
If you finish your fret ends, and decide to roll the edges, be sparing. But it plays killer. I slightly rolled my Indian Laurel fretboard on the Surf Green, and carefully used the Darrell Braun Guitar method (with a touch of file) and a few bucks vs $20 for a fret file . An underrated feature of Teles is that they sound killer into a driven tube amp, not even talking modeling stuff, different topic. No hotter pups, nada. Stock Tele straight into a tube Marshall or my Peavey Classic 20 (monster '93 U.S. 15w super amp). Distortions like my (!!!) DS-1's that don't like high output pickups are the sh*t. This into a DS-1 (or over in a Rat-style) pedal is superb. Teles and chorus pedals sound great, and into a Crybaby are single-coil heaven. Note that my main guitars are Stratocasters (to include my 2015 Custom Shop). But if you're covering Tom Petty, The Church or The Pretenders, gotta have that Tele.
Yes! Buy one (or three) Inflation? Not with these babies. NOT expensive. Except the Sparkle Red beauty is up to $209 and still worth it. I may buy one, lmao!
I've priced guitars for decades. This is a do-buy. And the guy doing the video is cool as sht. Diggin' it.

I regret it but I bought it to review and fell in love with it so I kept it. Made tons of vids and music with it. The good news is , many that don't know what they have or don't appreciate them will unload them cheap ...and I will be there to collect a few. Hahahah. Thanks again !!! After sending some Photos, Thomann gave me a Discount for that afterward. Other than that a superb Guitar. Then at some Point i´ve been aware of the Classic Vibes Series and had to get one of those. This was/is the best Strat ever for me. Super easy playable and with a Sound as stratty as it can get. So all in all i own three Squiers and haven´t regret any buying of these. Top Guitars. I got the sparkle red and the Finish is absolutely flawless. So I got a sparkle red pickguard to match and lo and behold when I got the old one (or new old one )off, the body is routed for a humbucker at the neck.
Doesn't really need much of anything as is, but if you like to customize things and put in your own special touches, this would be a great Foundation. Perhaps better quality full size pots, a lite fret polishing would be in order but not severe required. Would be good for lots of customizing fun if you like that sort of thing👍⚡

I just bought a 2020 arctic white affinity squire tele with a maple fretboard. Now made in China.
Pros=full thickness body. Nice shallow u shape neck.
Cons. Would not intonate at all. Bridge mounted 1/4" too far forward. String through holes were offset from bridge.
Crap ceramic pups. Pots, switch and jack total junk. Chrome on the pot metal bridge and control plate scratches if you breath on it.
Besides the neck and body, I had to replace everything and do a complete rebuild before the guitar would even set up. Ive had pretty good luck with Squires in the past. But in the past I always bought from a retailer and played a few before I would buy. This time I bought it on line without hands and eyes on it out of the box. Last time I ever buy a squire direct on line without out handling what i'm buying.

I already have a MIM, and I wanted something a little more "throwaway" but a solid base as a modding project
The ONLY downside (if you can even call it that!) of the Bullet versus the Affinity is the maple board and even THAT is 95% my own vanity - there are so many downsides to the affinity; a lot of them seem to include complaints about fret-sprout!

I stuck a Wilkinson M-Series in the neck and a treble bleed on the volume; It adds a beautiful round and thick edge that compliments the stock bridge pickup perfectly!
I'd originally thought to have this guitar as a base for a modding project - maybe plane the front, chamber it and stick a new top on - Nope! Now that it's got the Humbucker and the Treble Bleed I'm leaving it the hell alone and will be "Gig Secondary" perhaps even Primary!
