this should be a movie or something because that eye in the camera made the hair stand up on the back of my neck and my blood ran cold for a few seconds, that was actually kind of scary, not scary to the point where I'd scream but just chills... was actually kind of awesome for them to add that, when it swims close to you then something like its eye get captured in the photo, instead of just a blob that was supposed to be the creature.
how to make your finger cold and purple!:wrap a lot of long hair on it and make it TIGHT..

The eye scared the crap outta me
I think this was a great example of "it's not about what you see, it's about what you don't see" and that's exactly what made this game scary. Like, the concept alone is scary enough. You're not in familiar place, you're not even on earth. You're on an alien moon, that already makes me feel extremely isolated, but on top of that, you're also underwater in an ocean of blood...in a tiny submarine fully exposed to any creature that might live there.

This was actually terrifying to me. The eye on the camera made me jump. And the ending *really* got me.
This is an amazing example of psychological horror. It's what you don't see what's scary. The things you get glimpses of.

I’d be interested to see a game with flipped concepts of fear. Got the idea from things getting brighter when there was a fire, usually brighter means less scary, but if a light got brighter when something got closer for example, it flips someone’s idea of what should be scary. Wonder what other things could have that same effect and if it could be executed.
Sound I guess. There are two ways to do it: something that makes noise shortly before an attack, or an environment filled with something like birdsong that falls silent at the approach of danger.

That was honestly the best concept and execution of said concept I have seen in a while + beavers reactions made it even better
Its suprising seeing beaver scared since he dosen't play horror game alot but when he does most of the time he laughs through the scare i only remember him being scared during fnaf joy of creation i think its called
This game is great. It starves you of action, then the jumpscare at the end - its just perfect!
this game shows that great sound design and gameplay in general can make an amazing single player horror game without having much of a story
A bit disappointed that he didn't took the objective pictures correctly. It would've increase the feeling of dread. But at least he partially got the experience I guess
What an awesome game, just goes to show that as long as the concept is good, you can make a good game in whatever genre, graphic type, budget amount, etc. It comes down to creativity and talent.

"Irong lung two. The last submarine sent down was destroyed, we've outfited yours with more technology and we have new key points for you" sounds like a good idea for a game.
This was so good, i thought this wasnt going to be that scary but the sound desing was so creepy and when the eye showed up it was so chilly, like you felt like the monster knew you where watching him and you only get like 2 seconds to think and ¡BAM! He hits you,it din't even give you time to think or react and i also thought that there was only going to be a death screen saying you died and scream when you died but the monster actually gets in and destroys everything, that made alot more scarier, like you feel so unsave and isolated, as if the deep ocean wasnt creepy enough its also red, props to the devoloper. such a good concept, i would like to see matpat covering this game

One of the objectives has the fish in it it looks very similar and i think it is also different from the eye he captured
@@Forvennm It is confirmed there are two known creatures. The Frog Fish called Frog, and then Scaly the eye of the beast we'll never see fully. The Frog Fish is the one who destroys the Iron Lung

The only reason it's scary is because you can't see anything and when you see the eye you don't know what to do and what's out in this blood ocean
The premise of this game, the slow dreadful build up, and the disturbing artifacty style of this game, all add up to a terrifying experience, which was very evident by beaver's scream at the end :).

I like how there's a time limit but you don't realize it until near the end. My question is what would've happened if he went to a different one last? Also, I bet there's two endings, the one he got, and an ending where you take all the pictures successfully before time 'runs out'
The "time limit" is arbitrary; the game is procedurally based. It wouldn't matter which location he went to first or last; whatever one you approach last is the one you die at and there's only one ending. A very simple game but MAN is it terrifying!!!

Why you'd use a rusted out submarine to explore an alien ocean floor ?
You'd think we'd have rust or corrosion proof subs created for such things in the future.

From my understanding, your character doesn't really have a choice. IGP explained it in his video.
I remember it said that resources were rare so maybe they didnt have the correct resources to make a sub suitable for this mission
