I linked the two waist belts, from the Setout Divide (very similar design), to each other with a rectangular clip and wore it - the backpack going cargo.

Thanks again for a killer review Chase. Opening was inspired. For what it’s worth, maybe it doesn’t quite compare, but I’m still a big fan of the Osprey Fairview (I have the older version) for 40l travel. Maybe they’re not hype enough, but high level comfort and just a big ol’ space. Maybe lacking in the all important places for discrete things like… umm… you know…. Uhhhh… you know… ummm… papers. Yeh. Those business papers man.

We mock hip belts but I need them to carry my bag comfortably while I wheel my mom’s bag and keep one hand free to help her up and down curbs or where there aren’t railings. Plus I’m just used to them from years of backpacking. My shoulder straps don’t carry weight. They just keep the pack from falling backwards.
