Had this for a year and finally went back to a simpler 10 in 1. WIHA quality was solid, design clever, and versatile with bit variety but every time I used it if I gripped toward top, cap area, to apply torque, I inadvertently popped cap open. This was always annoying and troublesome in situations eg on ladder etc. Don’t see as common complaint so it’s obviously me not the tool.
I'm with you on not leaving a bit in the holder. I have a similar Klein, and taking out one bit means all my others are always in the same spot (at least in relation to each other), and so are quicker to retrieve on the job.
I had one of these, I loved it but dropped off of a 4' ladder and the bit holder mechanism broke, one of the little plastic tabs that locks it down snapped. Not beefy enough for surviving a jobsite
I bought this driver on the 15th of November, while I was really impressed with the quality of the bits and handle. My locking collar didn't work at all and the spring loaded cap was incredibly slow. I have sent it back to KC Tool to see if they will give me a replacement. Other than the problems I did have, I am really impressed with the tool
Magnetic bits may not fit, but all locking 1/4" hex bits do fit. All Wiha, Wera, and Felo bits that I have tried do fit and lock into the ultradriver.

When I saw this video I immediately thought of how to change the black O-ring in case it deteriorates
Pity that you can't remove the shank to use it in a power tool. My daily driver is the Wera Kraftform Kompakt 28.
I use this everyday as a appliance tech. The one thing that bothers me is how I have to make sure that ALL the bits are fully seated (even the ones I didn't touch) or the carousel won't slide back into the handle.
This is my go to screwdriver. Awesome video
What drive me nuts, none of these sets contains Plus-Minus bits, which is your No1 need if you're installing an electric stuff.
Like, one single Schuko wall socket (doesn't matter, Legrand or ABB) require both SL/Pz1 and SL/Pz2 bits and good luck to find any pocket-friendly bit set on the market that include them.

How does this differ from the xiaomi version. They recently released an identical model.
I found out that the Xiaomi version bits are made from Chrome Vanadium, while the German version is made from Chrome Vanadium Molybdenum (Molybdenum part makes it harder than Chrome Vanadium).

I have this driver and I do not like it. The biggest issue is that when it sits in a bag or occasionally while in use the bit holder pops open. The latch is so tiny on it that it takes very little to get it open. I primarily use it for the hex bits. Because of the way the sleeves are and the label placement you need to hunt for the right bit. Lastly I really dislike how the last bit had no place and needs to stay on the driver. It's fine as a kitchen drawer screwdriver but don't recommend it for professional use

DasSparschwein I had both and gave the Wera away to a friend who would use it. The Wera is cooler, but the ability to hold the huge variety of bits led me to keep the Wiha. The KK25 belt pouch was nice, and the compact nature of it would definitely be handy for a daily use tool.

No they only work with the ultradriver

I’d literally prefer if they remove a bit from the set, rather than requiring one bit to be stored at the tip. Ratcheting and an led would also help, like the Bahco has.
This would be good to throw in my bag when I have to go to moms place and fix stuff or throw in the glove box of the truck.

This would be perfect if it just took standard bits and was ratcheting...
Take a look at Wera, they do a ratcheting driver with bit storage in the handle although it only holds 6 bits (7 if you wanted to leave one in the shaft, but it only comes with 6). Unfortunately it only has a magnetic bit holder and doesn't have the lock of the non-ratcheting drivers, however it has the advantage of being a bit slimmer.
I had the Wera, was not impressed at all. The quality sucked. Sent it back and got the Megapro Ratcheting Automotive.
What was wrong with yours? I've had mine quite a while and it's been fine so far, been dropped a few times and gets banged about in my bag every day.
It was the version with the button on the back to pop open the bits. The shaft wobbled, the two parts wobbled when they where either opened or closed and just the overall feel felt cheap. The pop open action just felt gimmicky and not very robust. Especially since it only held 6 bits. At £39 or $52 there was no way in hell I was keeping it.
I own the wera and the wiha and both of them are really high quality tools. The wera feels a little more robust, the ratchet is doing very fine for years now. The wiha has it's advantage in having much more bits but only the special wiha ones. But you have all you need always directly with you and the bits are locked well. With the wera from time to time I have to use one of my bit sets and the magnetic holder sometimes is not my friend. The handle of the wiha is a little big, the wera handle is doing better.
So in the end I like both of them and in daily work the main reason to take the one or the other is a decision of ratchet or the bits I need for the current job.
Short Story: On the packaging is a Made in Germany sticker but I could not find any source for buying it here in Germany. From Amazon USA it took only 7 days and I as lucky because the customs did no charge me.
Nice run down brother! If you ran this vs the Kraftform Kompakt 25 what’s your thoughts on who rains supreme between the two? I’m on the fence bc I like that the wihi has so many all in one. But like you said in another video, the KK25 can use any other 1/4 hex bit which makes the cases of bit I have get put to good use outside my impact driver! I’m watching the China 🇨🇳 garbage 🤦🏽♂️ jeez man I hate Chinas garbage clones but gotta give it to them in the sense of flip whatever to make a buck they hustle hard in that sense. By the way, I'm not a fan of bit drivers but KC has these sets on sale right now for under $20 so how could I say no? I decided to pick up a couple for stocking stuffers since the holder mechanism is so cool. Too bad the bits aren't made in Germany. I really shouldn't be allowed to order from KC more than once per month. Darn you and your awesome reviews.

used this didnt like that it doesnt ratchet
After two weeks of using this my bit holders started to break off. Never used as chisel, or misused in anyway.
I did notice that they are only plastic-hinged and will wear out eventually. Hopefully you got a replacement for the one you bought as it looks like you got a defective one.

ive been wanting to get some of their tools, but i love the felo wooded handle drivers and got those instead
Nice review. I absolutely hate rubber and especially orings on tools. Guaranteed to rot after a couple of years.
Nice gadget, but completely worthless for every day use.
@M. Stevens 80% of the stuff in the handle you will never need and by the time you fumbled the same three bits you use out of the handle, you rode your bicycle to your tool box and back.
