My friend and I never got to level 2 in Savage on his Amiga, back in the day. I literally laughed out loud just now when this song started up, because it's even MORE out of place in a dungeon-crawler than level 1's. :D
Well the thing is Savage has three different gameplay types. The first two levels are side scrolling action platformers. The second portion of the game where this song plays is a scrolling style shooter similar to Space Harrier. The 3rd part of the game you are controlling a bird in horizontal shooter-like stage (Think Gradius or R-Type for a good example)
It feels like a case of asking Kevin Collier how many samples they planned to use for the soundtrack and the answer was just, Yes.
Heard this described as "Theres Been an Explosion at the Sample Factory" and yep, lmao.
This is not a diss, this rules for the record.
love it.
