So about your technique: You said you wet the paper all over but then you said the bottom is wet loosely and unevenly? So do you leave dry areas on the bottom?
Another amazing result Lois intreguing how you've calmly explained how to achieve detail to show the crashing waves, enjoyed the video and techniques used greatly appreciated stay safe and healthy
This and your other semi-abstract breaking wave painting are favorites of mine! They looked so beautiful and fun that I've tried something similar and am quite happy with the results. Thank you for your gorgeous paintings and for your ever helpful tutorials!
It's the first time I watch one of your videos but not the last for sure. You make watercolor appears so simple. You are really inspiring. Thank you for sharing all of this.
Hello Lois, thank you for this lesson, amazing result, I really like this approach and this technique very liberated and at the same time mastered with genius, it's very inspiring so thank you for that. Bruno in France.
You are really unique in the way you paint . I don' t miss any of your videos and the more I see them , the more I appreciate the way you paint. Greetings from Germany
Another stunning piece of work. Eye catching from any angle. It's the strong contrasts dark and light the demand attention. Not something I could walk past and ignore. I was thinking about a little booboo with the bird. Easy to transform into another coastal type. A bot of a blob on it's neck, we have a frigate bird, beak out of scale, and there are 2 options, a gannet, or a pelican. Not that you need to adjust anything to meet with a happy little accident. ( I miss Bob too ). Can you feel the sea spray on your face? Hear squeals of delight from the gull, as it enjoys challenging conditions? Feel the rumble under your feet as the waves smash against rocks? That right there is what finishes a painting, when there more than something to see. But life within it. You're a proper clever clogs. And all in as long as it takes to make a cuppa.
How do I get both the colors on my paint brush - in this case the blue and pynes grey - for the initial splash? Also, this is one of the best works I have seen in a while..! Thanks for sharing..!!
Many thanks Surya! Dip your large brush unevenly into both colours with out mixing them together - plenty of paint freshly squeezed from the tube - this way you will apply both colours in the same brush strokes
I usually use Arches paper and I cannot get mine to lift like your paper. Curious if Saunders Waterford paper is that much different for wet in wet than Arches in your opinion? 🤔
Which brand of water color paint are you using because I use Sanelli Yang and the pains gray dries super light which is very deceiving. So every time I use it and think I have a good amount of depth it moves and fades
I tried this painting but I had trouble with the depth of colour. I am using half pans. Should I get some tube paints for this kind of painting. Thank you. I love your videos 😊
You will struggle to get the depth of colour with half pans, tubes are in my opinion best for this style of painting unless you have exceptional quality artists quality pans with very high pigment loads
There are several great painters but there are fewer great teachers. You are both🙏
You can almost feel the wind, pushing that wave, lifting the gull. Stunning!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely beautiful painting dear friend...stay connected..have a nice day ❤
Thank you 🤣💐

So about your technique:
You said you wet the paper all over but then you said the bottom is wet loosely and unevenly? So do you leave dry areas on the bottom?

Thank you Lois for your amazing work, sooooo spontaneous, sooooooo beautiful! Was wondering the brushes you used?
Super 👍
Aloha=Love🐦
Another stunning seascape Lois. You are the master of wet-in-wet! Thanks so much for sharing. You inspire me.
Thanks for your kind words Kathie!
it looks as though you used some masking fluid? I’m new with using the fluid but i’m sure it would be helpful with waves. really lovely.
You are a great artist, thank you for sharing your talent. It's an honor that I can learn from you.

Beautiful, Lois! Do you pre-stretch Millford or do you find it doesn't need it?
I usually use Arches paper and I cannot get mine to lift like your paper. Curious if Saunders Waterford paper is that much different for wet in wet than Arches in your opinion? 🤔

Hello. I love your tutorials but could you tell me what the paint brush is called again and where you bought it from please? 😊
Belíssimo 👍🏻👏🏻
