when you constantly read about constant whiners complaining and complaining about something you are hyped only for thousands of comments to put you down, and when you try to argue with them they call you a 'biodrone' or 'bioware fan/f#ck/hump boy it gets annoying and you get tired of any sort of negativity.
I get that, I'm really excited for this game too. Have been for years, and there are some comments that deserve the response that this one got I just felt that the response was unjustified in this instance because let's face it we are all hoping this game doesn't suck regardless of how hyped we are.

My favourite part of this briefing (besides the Quarians of course) was that mention of the Quarian/Geth telescope array.
This finally answers how the A.I. knows so many details about the Helius Cluster. I mean, they detected sub-surface water and even the molecular structure of the life on Habitat 5! That's insane!
One thing that had bothered me before was that any information concerning Andromeda should have been 2.5 million years outdated, because of light lag. The way it works in RL. But this Geth array seems to be able to 'look into the future', by making use of three mass relays and thus achieving up-to-date intel. And I'm perfectly fine with that. :)
of course we know why the Geth were monitoring Dark Space, and it wasn't for Andromeda.
The Geth could very well acted out of curiosity. Not related to the Reapers at all.

That's one person out of an entire race. I don't think so, even I love Tali and I don't give a damn if Quarians end up in Andromeda or not. Actually i'd prefer not to see them and focus more on newer races and native inhabitants of that Galaxy. Maybe some kind of reference would be cool but that's about it. Still not an answer
Kaos Ruin the whole Quarian craze people have is kinda weird and I wish the game would be more focused on what impact us, as a new species, would have on the races in andromeda apposed to dragging all the old ones with us

I thought a dev on twitter said it was Heleus in response to a question about the spelling. Saw a pic of the tweet in a me vid somewhere.
can confirm seeing that on twitter. a dev said the dumb sounding spelling was the correct one. looked it up and Heleus was the youngest son of Perseus and Andromeda in Greek myth.
Two things, if the Quarians are in the initiative, the Volus and Elcor better be as well, they were always favorites of mine. Also, the Geth were probably monitoring Andromeda as a possible escape route from the Reapers.
technically just one Geth would be enough to restore race. this program could simply copy itself a few million times and then diverse later. :)

The Elcor will almost definitely not be in Andromeda as they are extremely hard to animate, and if there were volus i think they would have put one as the merchant thumbnail in the exploration video.

People need to stop comparing Quarians to nobodies like Volus or Elcor or Hanar. Quarians are a major species in the lore and in the trilogy with having the biggest part in ME3 as opposed to any other species. They are soooo much bigger than the random species added to hubs to make the world seem bigger. Quarians are fan favourites , they deserve the same treatment as other major species like Asari or Turians or Krogans or Salarians.
It said that the quarians got information from a geth ''FTL'' telescope and it is unclear why the geth were studying dark space. Maybe the geth have moved to Andromeda shortly before the Andromeda Initiative and maybe some settled in the Helius cluster. Pls let there be geth. I want them so bad in the multiplayer!
I hope in future games we might can play as other race as human! It would be amazing to play a Quarian or Turian ;D

The Geth were monitiriing dark space, not necessarily focused on Andromeda...looking for the Old Machines I presume
as the quarians can live there whole lives aboard the ships could be that they never went into cryo and traveled at a slightly slower pace? i think it was said in one vid that there are a few milkyway people in andromeda before the ark arrives, so putting fast enough engines on smaller ships atleast seem plauseable. or it could be a back up plan and after the events of me3 the whole amarda that is left could of left for andromeda, limping there.

I thought the ice thing was just that it would be used for cooling. It wouldn't be practical for storage since ice has a larger volume per mass than liquid water.
The Geth knew something the Initiative didn't. they seen something that left Andromeda a long time ago. probably the Jaardan....

There will be a riot if players don't get to see the Quarians, now that we know they came along. You know what would be epic? If the Quarians find something in Andromeda to increase their immune systems and no longer wear helmets! Probably won't happen though☹️

Habitat One: Looks dangerous due to what looks like an area of giant scorpins and snakes
Habitat Two: Looks really nice but I bet xenomorph and predator like creatures are waiting to kill me on site.
Habitat three: Ok that one just looks like a death trap waiting to happen with space tigers and all other sorts of man eating creatures.
Habitat Four: My great grand father told me stories of a game named Pitfall Harry and said he hated the pits alot. Well grand pappy you'll be happy to know I found said world themed around Pitfall Harry.
Habitat Five: Looks like the planet from the movie avatar so LETS NOT COLONIZE THIS PLACE, and save ourselves the humiliation of being beaten by some rocks and sticks.
Habitat Six: Refer to notes on habitat three except with more water. Like I fear this planet due to sharks and shit.
Habitat Seven: Well it looks nice but god know what is there.

I think the Golden Worlds briefing video almost confirms that we will have only 7 planets that are explorable/landable
"Only" - because they are HUGE as some people who played the game stated
Caio Ramos They are the main open world - type planets. But I'd imagine you'd find outposts/cities via planet scanning like in mass effect 2 aswel.
Caio Ramos I find it more likely the seven are the least likely to be the all large open exploratory spaces. most likely a few will be large open areas with the settlement and surrounding area while some are likely to be city/outpost type areas like the Nexus in terms of layout I would hazard a guess. Though they may still be quite large of course. I imagine we will have a few large exploration wilderness planets as well for certain world types. Volcanic, lush vegetation, an ice world ect that aren't suitable for full habitation. Hazard worlds in other words. I am hoping for a few low gravity environments as well.
Let's not also rule out native species home and colony worlds.
Though we won't know for sure till the game is out, it is safe to assume that there will be a few large worlds not of these 7.

5:45. The Geth were not monitoring Andromeda, they were monitoring Dark Space, probably related to their worship of the Reapers, at that time. Additionally, you probably only see the Quarians if you decide to thaw them out. One of the Bioware people (whats'isface) said on Twitter that seeing the Quarians will depend on the choices you make, and paying attention. I'll bet that's it.

Water - OK. They clearly showed planets with lots of water but I guess we got to truck it up there to the Nexus.

So just a theory about why the geth would have been "spying on Andromeda"... Do you think it would be likely that they were perhaps looking for the reapers in dark space? Maybe study them? Trying to figure out if maybe they originated from another galaxy? Just my thoughts on the matter. Would love to know what you guys think.
I believe there will be Quarians, but only a very small number of them. Couple thousand at most, more likely in the few hundreds. There's a decent chance we'll see them in game IMO. Could possibly also see Volus, Elcor, Hanar, and Drell as being part of the Initiative, but I see them being represented even less. None of those four races are particularly pioneering by nature. Whether we'll see them in game is very unlikely.

quarians were my favorite alien race. i liked how no other species in the milky way could fuck them due to cross contamination. seems silly, but that was a really neat aspect when witnessing a romance between a quarian and a (ahh cant remember the other race)

I also am curious if we are going to bring enough animals with us to start a planet, or we are banking on a golden world already having all forms of life. seems risky to count on there already being all forms of life and that you can ingest them without bad effects but oh well 6:00 logically it is for the story. but ways it could make sense for lore is: it could be because they knew the Reapers, or something like them, do exist and going far away would be advised. or it could be that since they aren't emotional (and time means practically nothing to them) going away from a galaxy that definitely wants you dead to another galaxy could mean no more attacks. thus greatly increasing the chance for survival, their primary function. 9:05 I wonder if that video where we get to meet Jall, maybe that is why our hands are up, if we choose to follow protocol. which means it might be an option to NOT follow protocol when we go to meet Jaal. not a garantee, it might be forced to follow protocol when we go to meet Jaal
If we get to encounter the Quarians in the main game I'm 100% going to forge an alliance with them. Because it would be cool to have a Quarian squad-mate again and of course the tech the Quarians have could be helpful in upgrading the Nexus along with unlocking the mysteries of the Remnant.
Ok but what about the Volus? They had a highly intertwined economy with the turians. Also the drell and the hanar have a similar relationship that is very close. But my last question is how do you travel a whole galaxy without mass relays? The relays allowed travel through mass free space. Also what about refueling your ship. That was almost annoying as restocking probes in mass effect 2. Now I hope there is an explanation for these questions because these concepts are woven into the story that they have been telling us in the original trilogy.
I love Scottish accents, so just from the briefing, Dr. Suvi Anwar won my heart. I'm going to be sure to talk to her every chance I get. Fingers crossed she's romanceable.
I completed over 90% of the game in 60 hours that's sad ... expected more I spent over 7hours afk with a few hours going in circles with 40 spare cryo points
In the small text it said that the geth were looking out in dark space, the geth could've possibly been looking into dark space for the reapers, even though they probably wouldn't have physically seen them bc it's extremely dark out there. When you think about it the reapers haven't invaded quite yet as this game takes place before mass effect 3 so yea the geth may have been looking for them instead of andromeda.
Sigh... I hope the Quarians aren't as whiny, needy, and generally troublesome as they were (as a group) in the trilogy. Not sure they're the best general explorers in their isolation suites anyway - not easily adaptable... Wouldn't have minded leaving the behind at all.
Now that the Quarians are confirmed can we have some love for the Batarians? I know it wouldn't make too much lore-sense, but I want to falcon punch in multiplayer :D
if they can manipulate mass effect fields then they would use mettalic hydrogen for almost everything incuding fuel and computers and construction and if we could (we are trying) we would use it two but having ezo would make its production simple

@4:30 the turians are dextro as well.... so your theory is obscured. A tweet already confirmed Quarians, but like Meeting Sheperds mother in ME 1 it is tied to a deep dialog path in order to see them. according to the tweet.
Geths study deep space probably mostly for 2 reasons 1. reapers are still in deep space, 2. maybe they wanted go to Andromeda. :)
personally just want another female chief engineer who is quarian it just makes sense to have them since they are the best and at least give us a tali like character as she is one of the fan favorites
it makes sense to bring the quarians along, they're very good with machines and in a mission as ambitious like the andromeda initiative having good engineers is a must, turians are good tacticians and krogan are awesome at fighting, asari are brilliant at science and stuff...makes total sense to bring all these aliens along

It was clear, it was odd that they were so reluctant to confirm but its clear there is an important mission involving them. I do wish we can eventually add them as companion in dlc or in future game.

Yay Quarians! Seems like an odd planet for them. Rannoch was basically a lifeless rock which made sense since nothing could hurt their immune systems. This looks like a jungle, though i guess its more for the dextro food
MVQlech_67 they had weak immune systems because they lived on ships for hundreds of years the geth could have ruined Rannoch and the planets good for dextro life which quarians are

I'm already disappointed that there's no Quarian teammate, but if I don't get to even see the Quarians at least once while playing then I'll be extremely disappointed. I already don't like half the new teammates that we can get, there's not one teammate I want to try and romance.

Ice takes more place than water becouse it expands after freezing. They probably ment ice water, but voice actor read it as two things
