  • Target of operation: create two indexes (index of authors and index of subjects) with MS Word:
    1. index of authors
select all entries for this index.
    2. index of subjects
select all entries for this index.
Activate non-printing character button to see the codes.
    3. We need to toggle on field code by pressing ALT+ F9 (use this key combination to toggle ON or OFF field code)
    4. Add \f "A" for index of authors in the XE field code
    5. Toggle on (ALT+F9) to see the actual index
    6. Update the index
    7. Toggle off (ALT+F9) to see index field
    8. Copy the index field to the second index (index of subjects) then change \f "A" into \f "S" to create the second index (INDEX of SUBJECTS)
    9. Update the index once more
    That's it.
    Thanks for watching :)

This really looks good but you should make your pink dot transparent cos we can't see what you're clicking on!

@Agus, Thanks for this video. Two questions:
    1. Is there a way I can mark an item once (with the appropriate \f "A") and have Word show all its occurrences in the text? I noticed that when I click "Mark", it only marks that particular occurrence. When I click "Mark All", it marks all of them, but without the necessary \f "A".
    2. Is there a way I can get Word to indicate not the page number but the heading under which the item falls in the text?

Hi, when I press to view Field Code, I do not see the code for the index. I only see the code for the entries in the INDEX, not the code for the index itself. How do you show the code for the index itself?

The worst presentation ever. I could not understand. I could not tell if or how two separate indexes were created. It does not work.
