- In this gripping documentary, we dive into the dark side of the coffee industry, where a powerful cartel exploited hardworking farmers. For years, corrupt officials orchestrated an operation that cheated farmers out of fair prices for their prized coffee beans. But when a group of brave, rebel farmers finally had enough, they spoke out and stood firm against the cartel’s oppressive control.
In retaliation, the cartel singled out the coffee of these rebellious farmers, only collecting from those who collaborated with the corrupt system. This sparked outrage across the farming community, leading the director of the cartel to visit the region and personally oversee the situation.
However, what began as a routine survey quickly turned into a tragic confrontation. The manager, recently promoted and unaware of the storm brewing, was suddenly called to the scene of a violent attack orchestrated by the cartel's enforcers. As tensions escalated, the situation spiraled out of control, resulting in a brutal assault on the manager, leaving him hospitalized in critical condition.
This is the story of a community's fight against corruption, and the lengths some will go to in order to maintain power.

This is such a SPECTUCLAR story...It should be made into a short film...It has drama, action, comedy and it reflects how Kenyan society operates...and of course, Mkurugenzi/Abel Mutua did an AMAZING job narrating it.

I come from a region we grow tea.. Things have evolved but then the theft "upgrades" 😅.. Like mbinu mpya daily. So now solution always is, entrust someone which you still risk or if you are able to be present you are super safe.. You follow up keenly. Hizi siku wanaiba ata kwa shamba before ata ifike collection centre. I was an estate manager for my shosho time ya covid that's how i learnt this things. Mimi casual labour mmoja karibu anichape cos i confronted them. The sub-chief had to take lead to protect me. It is always bad but thank God, that is what has seen us through school.
I feel sorry for all who have gone through this coz it's their means of survival
