In the cartoon You see, the "Cat home" - in similares "carton-box" lived people after war, when building New Japan. This years- is time big work from sunrise to sunset, heavy work. The abandoned kitten adopted by a cat, is a symbol of Japanese children who lost their parents in the war. This cartoon for children and his parents is a little help for hope to good live in future. Yeah, this is amazing. The USSR went the same way after the terrible war. Cartoons and comedies were the best psychological help for people. And years later, the first artificial satellite and the first man in space. Here is the power of art! I'm from Russia and very love the Japanese cartoons and movies, from my childhood, (i watched anime-serials and movies on TV in 90-s))).
In case anyone wants to know the name of this cute little animation, it's " suteneko tora-chan" and there is a English sub here on RUclips. The story is actually really heartwarming and cute.
People, if you like something like this, publicize it. There were no notes for this on the Internet Movie Database, which means that outsiders like me are clueless about this good cartoon.
wow. I really liked this video! :) pretty interesting story, it seems. And definitely an older one. Though, I have to comment also on some of the other comments made that make no sense and do not pertain to the video at all. Like Disney copying characters from other places. I have to agree and disagree. Yes, there are similarities, but there are also many differences between the types of animation.
Don't even mention Disney who claimed that similarities between Kimba the White Lion and The Lion King were coincidental. If one wants to use others' material then they should seek and obtain a license to do so. In addition they should also mention where the source material came from. Disney did not do either of these things. Anyway, I like this clip very much. Thank you.
We, Portuguese, did not only bring Western costumes to Japan in the 16th century, but the first guns they ever saw, as well. Decades later they used them to send us away.
So, I do believe that it could be just coincidence between similarities. And the comment about the bombing of Japan.....I'm not even going to go there. That's just a narrow-minded thing to say is all. But about the video, here. I really enjoyed it! It's nice to see some old ones that were nearly lost in the sands of time.
@DavBlc7 Christmas is celebrated in Japan and not just as a non-religeous holiday. The Portugese missionaries brought Christianity to Japan while Japan was still in a feudal state.

Overall, I have no doubt that Disney may get inspirations from certain places, but I can't say that they outright copy them. And the statement comparing the Lion King and the White Lion and Kimba and Simba... Yes, they are strikingly similar. But if you look up what the name 'Simba' Means, you might understand that it actually 'means' lion! I believe it's Swahili. Though, I could be wrong.
They are so cute and creepy at the same time and i love old animations !!!
That this was made in 1947, when most Japanese cities were still in ruins, is amazing.

@@Fernsehenpfanger thanks for info
I love old animations so much, they don't call me Vintage for nothing!
The detailing in black and white is incredible .
Absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing this!
This is extraordinary. Actual animation rather than jerking from position to position. Some of the graceful movement is phenomenal.
I read that back then, it took many weeks just to make a 5 minute animation
It's ancestor of all animes.
It's the ur-nime.
Most animé, anyway.
oh my gosh this is too precious. ♥

Sooo cute, love it!
makes me smile to see this.
I don't speak Japanese, but I kind of understand what is happening? And what the cats are singing about? It's very sweet

I like the heavy Max Fleischer influence in this film.
The animation is more fluid than modern anime.
Many many thanks
Whoa! The youngest female kitten left home only because she was jealous of her adopted brother receiving more attention.
Wow, amazing animation 👍🏾
wow..thnxxx

Kawaii 😁🥰
All their faces give me a very distinct "Bobby Hill" vibe
You should dub the whole anime with bobby's voice
That is too funny. You are so right
A counterpart from across the pond?
Japanese classic Toons?!
They ARE real! I'm grateful I speak this language.
Nihon no bunka ni kyomi ga arimasu.
I agree with the first comment. I wish I could understand it more, and subtitles would help me.
this is so unimaginably cute but at the same time so offputting
when is season 2 of this anime coming out?
damnnnn think about it, all the animation at this time was done frame by frame, no modern animation techniques.
The vintage anime cartoon of the 1940’s
Wow a bizarre mix of Disney Snow White like life like face featuring & body movement by Astroboy shaped bodies.
Beautiful cat lady
The director behind the Nansensu Monogatari stories.
The animation reminds me of the story of the silly little mouse (1940)
aww poor kitty
2 years after getting bombed. Great work

it is so cute°!!! I love it

Cute! Is there a version with English subtitles?
So Bobby Hill was a small striped cat back in the '40s... Who knew?
They look like Puki kitty dolls. Definite Disney influence all over the place here.
@DavBlc7 Christmas is celebrated in Japan and not just as a non-religeous holiday. The Portugese missionaries brought Christianity to Japan while Japan was still in a feudal state.
Wow, those cats are kind of disturbing. They’re just human enough to put them in the Uncanny Valley.
The original anime.
The first anime
Anyone getting Richard Scarred vibes here? Ya know with those cats?
I meant Scary, mah dudes
Can you please add English subtitles?
Although I know a lot of the Japanese language, I am not 100% fluent.
Besides, I am an anime fan and a cat lover, so I want to know what cute little Tora-Chan is saying!😺😺😺
that cat is soo mean, I'm glad it left >D
😥
very cute
open your mind. ;)
The cats' faces are kinda creepy.
Hey, very cute.
que tierno
Que viajem legal!
She's jealous - haven't you ever had a little brother or sister? ; )
@killersushi99 and also Shinto too! I thought Christmas belongs to Christians..
Too bad this isnt subtitled
Cats movie but its something.
I’m just baby
Cause id really love to know what was going on
Little cat woman
Hai
