Sophia Amimo, a name quite familiar to those who have worked in the gulf, is our guest today.
Sophia has worked in 4 gulf countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai and Bahrain.
Each country has a story:
1. In Saudi Arabia, Sophia and her co-worker escaped rape, after being driven into a desert by three men who belonged to her employer's Arabic family. In her defense, she threatened to pull out the male driver's manhood if he never drove them back to the house.
2. In Qatar, she worked in 6 houses in a period of 3 months
3. In Dubai, she hustled for 4 months without a job and when she eventually landed on one, Covid19 pandemic spoiled her good pay.
4. Bahrain was good, but the salary was little compared to other countries.
Due to her experience in the four countries and having come back to Kenya with very little in her hands, she has started an organization for returnees, since a number of them come back to the country either: mentally disturbed, low on finances, broken families, death of loved ones, high expectations by society etc.
This will give them an umbrella to share their experiences and forge a way forward.

There's something called the yoke, (family alters) she needs to brwak before embarking on another mission of green pasture. i find her an encouraging and an honest lady but the yokes pulls her back. she needs deliverance and breaking of those alters so that she can succeed in life.

Me too I have been in Oman 3 months, Dubai 1.2yrs later in Qatar since may 2017 tho I resigned from the company juu hawakua wanapeana noc, so I exited 2018 July n came back 2018 August with freelance, this the best state in gulf as per me, I thank God for the favor, tho nmejaribu Canada but ended being conned not once
Whatever she's saying about labor rights here it's true and our embassy is another thing, friendly and considering welcoming Kenyans there, am also happy for human rights juu the first question huuliza is do your company owe you any pending salary. My previous company #Vodafone did same to me after I resigned and they never wanted to release me,reported me as run away,,wee hakuna offy sijaingia from Embassy, human rights madinatkhalifa,cid,wakra labor,sanaiya,doha labour,alkhor labour, national human rights mushaireb,,finally to the court n I won I just thank God I got my justice 🙏

Again you don't need to keep your money with you especially a nanny,just deposit to your Mpesa, tuma home the required amount and save the rest,atleast ubaki n like za matumizi tuu

Complicated story.. am trying to understand her advice but I can find none. Am in gulf and I can tell she is a liar. I listened to her story in KDM but nothing is adding up about working in gulf. Atleast you should get a good ex gulf who can give a better advice...
