Roland Garros! Lacoste is taking over the famous tennis court to present its collection and ... its new artistic director, Pelagia Kolotouros! Back to the brand's roots, René Lacoste is the primary inspiration behind the looks. From his famous briefcase to his signature and his wardrobe and, of course, his passion for tennis. On the eve of the show, Pelagia Kolotouros deciphered the rest of her first collection for Lacoste.
In the stands of the court, Pierre Niney, newly appointed ambassador of the brand, recalls with his partner Natasha Andrews the first Lacoste garment they wore. A little further on, Grace Jones can be seen settling in.

The fact that she has access to the archives of Lacoste back in the day, to its roots, codes and DNA and add her own craftsmanship to it is amazing. I got inspired just by watching the show
What people don't know about René was that he looked mixed race and was also an inventor with about 100+ patents. He kept inventing technological products all his life (ball launching robots for training, golf related inventions too). He was not only an old school tennis player who happened to invent a clothing brand.
My name is actually Roland Garros. and the very first Lacoste piece I had was a purple cardigan with white tipping and a giant "L" that I purchased on sale! It was a bit tight, but I didn't care, I wanted it!
