Hey I did the same thing as you. Ran wires from amp to stereo but I still can’t get no sound. Is it because my amplifier plug is still connected possibly?
Oh no ,you can not have two amplifiers connected to one speaker .that's what you just did two amps on the speaker.you would damage the radio as well as the factory amplifier if you have connected to the speaker .disconnect the factory amp .Hopefully, the radio output chip isn't damaged

Do you lose any of the function controls that the original radio has? I think everything is controlled through its Command center.
All functions are controlled at the touchscreen
Did you tap into the canbus or you didn’t have to because you ran wires from amp?
No,we did run wires from amplifier so no canbus connection needed
what is the part # for the kit?
