Installed a android unit in my w211 06 and I didn’t get the optic adapter the unit works ok. But what does the optic cable actually do? What are the extra functions?
For me it worked for 2 Years then the Audio Control Unit says nope you don't have a CD-Changer in then i don't turn the Radio on😐 after that I put the OEM CD Changer in. Now I'm waiting and maybe I Install later the Mr12Volt Blutooth Adapter

I have a W211 E320 and I'm upgrading to a OEM 2008 head unit, which is with Navigation (and the ability to connect AUX). Please can you share the part numbers ? Thanks

No, you don’t have to do that, this is actually the wrong way to do it, you should get a T split optical cable, cable shown in beginning of video are just a extension, and you would mush rather get power from the back of the radia, since when you turn the key to the off position, the 12v sigarette lighter plug gets turned off, but the radio are still on, and this box will be powered off and might cause all audio to dissappear.
I tried to instal this device on my clk350 cause in description says is compatible with 2005-2009 w209 ,my car even has multidisc cd changer in glove box so it supposed to be even easier but it didn't work ,so I tried the same way to plug behind the audio unit and didn't work , just wasted my time and had to return this piece of s**t, don't buy it if you have w209 merz
My CD changed from coffer and JVC marque kaputt my CD panne y new radio 📻 Android and CD Player from my radio station JVC and xtrong radio cam and wiffi video games from radio cameras invisible and radio stereo perfect

mine has also connected directly to changer. bluetooth telephony is not recognized. what did you set at the dip switch?

You will have to visit the Mercedes dealership and get them to program the head unit using Star Diagnostics to include a CDC device.

It actually goes behind the navigation/head unit. The CD changer is irrelavant at this point.

As the adapter emulates a CD-changer, the CD-changer needs to be removed from the MOST-ring
@@Snakeman808 if you have a cd changer with 6 slots, your adapter will add 6 more to the list on the radio menu, done this to my own car.

Yes, it does work. The adapter emulates a CD-changer. When your car didn't come with a CD-changer, you have to activate it in the MOST-ring.

I think u needed to plug in the empty fiber optic cable. If u don't plug it in it won't work. There's 3 of them
