It's great to see artists covered that don't get much exposure.
Great interview there, sirs ... Altitude is such a beauty and I love hearing stories about JW AND about how prog musicians evolved, esp. after the onset of punk.
really enjoyed this interview...thanks...have all their music...every time i listen to them i hear something new...
I take a more relaxed approach to interviewing .. consider it a chat rather than just another q&a session
Have you reviewed John's solo album "significance" as of yet? 🤔
The album is not on Itunes. Do you know why?
I don't... you could always message John Young
My guess...Lifesigns uses the FLAC format...which iTunes doesn't support...I bought my download on the bands website then converted it to apple lossless to play it on iTunes...without too much compression...
Mate! Just buy it!
I am going to be honest as I am with you but prog rock has never been my scene really.Your channel is very heavy on prog. content at the moment.Maybe I am alone but albeit your old worst to best uploads was where I joined in.Prog rock for me is a bunch of guys trying to mangle the brain to such an extent you cant understand what they are actually trying to musically achieve.I am sure the likes of Bev Bevan would fall asleep over his drum kit with all of this stuff.?Music should be energy and not thinking about why we are listening to it.
I think you’ve got prog confused with avant garde/experimental music. The problem might be your perception of prog rather than the genre itself. One thing I would say is that a band like Jethro Tull that Barry covers a lot, tbh I regard them more as classic rock than prog. What gets labelled as ‘prog’ can be debated. Generally I have found that much of the most beautiful, dynamic, exciting and original music I have ever listened to is classed as progressive rock or progressive metal.
