Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed consider liking the video Now that I've finally beaten TotK, I figured I'd make a video discussing my thoughts on it. But feel free to let me know what you think of TotK in the comments :D
Can’t deny that it feels like a dlc because it’s literally the same world with addons. I don’t have a lot of problems with it. I love the exploration, the size of the map, the new enemies, being able to build cars etc. I recently discovered that all Zonai devices (allegedly) have durability. They said that fans disappear after 30 minutes of use which is personally a huge and drastic problem. “Replayability” isn’t a problem for me because it’s fun that you can do anything in any order which changes the playthrough slightly. Building vehicles is fun, but durability takes a lot of fun out of it. I haven’t tested it myself to see if they actually only last 30 minutes, but hopefully that isn’t the case. Great game imo 👍
Oh yeah I actually recently learned about the fans despawning after 30 min thing too! I was riding my hoverbike for 30 mins in my video where I got all the lightroots and it broke on me, so it's def true. Thanks for watching!
Honestly Tears of the Kingdom is my least favorite game in the series. I'd say there's definitely worse games like Tri Force Heroes and the original Four Swords, but Tears of the Kingdom is the only Zelda game that I just couldn't finished. It just bored me to tears (heh heh). I was already very lukewarm on Breath of the Wild since it had pretty much nothing of what I like the Zelda series for, but at least it was decently enjoyable and everything about it was completely fresh. Tears of the Kingdom feels like I was replaying the same game again, and they doubled down on all the problems of the game, and with a building system that I could care less about. I find it absolutely insane that so many Zelda fans are fully accepting of the building system. Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts did the same thing and made a game centered around building, and everyone complained that it wasn't a Banjo Kazooie game. If you went back in time like 10 years and told everyone that a future Zelda game would be centered on vehicle building, you would be laughed at. Then they go ahead and release the game and everyone, including Zelda fans are all like "10/10 best Zelda game ever MASTERPIECE!!!).
thats fair. if you didn't enjoy BotW then you probably wont enjoy TotK because its more of the same. I honestly can't blame the Zelda devs for choosing to continue making more games like BotW considering it's the best selling game in the series. But lots of people fell in love with the Zelda series because of the older games and want more games like that
More and more people are getting sheep-minded I’ve noticed. They just want to go along with the crowd and agree with what everyone else says. I believe much more people did not enjoy this game, but will say that they enjoyed purely because others said so.
My biggest issue with this game is the nonreplayability of it all. The fact that the weapons are so unbelievably trash makes repeat playthroughs an unbearable slog, and unlike botw, trying to speedrun the game as a casual player really sucks because of the army sequence
"Speedrunning as a Casual player" wut?? Non-replayability because the weapons are trash?? I mean if you're not using Fuse then all the weapons are indeed trash..
I like the game but i also like Botw. The game just reused way too much things from Botw that makes it lack an identity of it’s own! After playing a few hours for the first time all of my hype died out. Totk was not a bad game but isn’t the Sequel I was hoping for. I put 1000+ hours in Botw and I rarely play Totk and I currently have 330 hours on that game.
It's cathartic to see people starting to turn on the idea of pure freedom in video games. Especially with how much Aonuma upset people with that "nostalgia" comment. Maybe now things will start to swing a little more in the other direction.
If they were going to reuse the whole map they should have added a lot more sky islands and add more environments in the depths but unfortunately most of it was disappointing but hey the fuse thing is really fun to use along with recall it’s kinda just there I wish you can recall enemies it would’ve been so funny
6 years for plot holes, and a “master quest” This game is not a good sequel, nor a good Zelda game. Has nothing to do with the past 40y of connected Lore and games. Don’t even have anything to do with BOTW story…
luckily for me I never cared about the zelda lore so that doesn't bother me but I can understand why people would be disappointed by it. I still think the overall game design is impressive and fun
@@247MrNiceguywithout lore, all we have is Mario jumping and Man with a sword…..storytelling matters. Yeah I think that 6 year wait really made people expect a lot from this game. If it came out like 4 years after BotW, a lot less people would be disappointed
something that shows how too similar totk is to botw is that when i go into pro hud mode take a screen shot and look at the shot i know that if i send the photo to a person they would have no way of knowing its totk by just looking at the enviorment (unless i'm in the depths or sky islands).
very true. I said something similar before the game came out in a video that if I showed my mom a screenshot from BotW and a screenshot from TotK, she would not know they were different games
Let's not forget that the first 3 months or so after it came out, everyone was simply having stupid fun with this game. No one knew the surprises waiting, so the game seemed massive to us. The joy was reflected on RUclips and Reddit. Most of the negative reviews appeared months later in what seemed like a completionist's clarity or a burnout, similar to some BotW reviews deeming that game boring months after release.
Personally I wanted BoTW 2 and that's what I got... However it's not that different from the first game which makes it quite disappointing. Still an amazing title, just not enough new content.
I mostly agree this one will be long but after the period you don’t have to read ahead it’s just the story anyway can we agree oot has a better story for many reasons. link goes on a quest to open the door of time and get the master sword but he messed up and let Gannon get to the Triforce making it the first ever game to have the villain win so link after seven years in stasis goes out and gets weapons and ancient artifacts the medallions he fights Gannon in a 1v1 dead man volley the fight were you hit the ball back and forth then you kill him when he’s a pig Zelda lets you live your childhood but Navi leaves with. Complete mission leading to majoras mask or link dies or link stays an adult.
The game was only disappointing to so called fans who are too caught up in fan fiction and the totally NON-EXISTENT TIMELINE !!! .... TotK did EVERYTHING better than BotW - except for those worthless sage abilities and the repetitive cut scenes that accompanied them. Otherwise this game was incredible !!!
yeah the zelda devs never planned on having the zelda games connected when they made them but then suddenly just threw together a timeline. thats one of the big reasons why I never cared for the Zelda lore because it seems like such an after thought by the developers
Humans wanted more BOTW so they played for 7 years, TOTK gave more BOTW but the humans don’t care because they played BOTW for 7 years now TOTK feels repetitive to them. That simple, go touch grass.

Calling this game objectively a masterpiece is crazy. It’s a good game but it barely innovated more than botw did, and it barely improved anything from the game.
