You can adjust the slipper clutch using the same Traxxas tool you use to remove the wheel nuts. Tightening the spring will lock the drivetrain more, making the car prone to wheelies on high-traction surfaces and burnouts on loose ones. However, having it fully tightened puts extra stress on the car’s components. Loosening the clutch allows it to slip, reducing stress on the drivetrain and motor, but if it’s too loose, you’ll just burn up the clutch with minimal acceleration. It’s all about finding the right balance based on your driving style and surface conditions. As for speed, I don’t have a GPS, but while chasing it with a real car, we hit over 80 km/h on 2S. It was tough to control and required a long, straight stretch. The motor got pretty hot, so I wouldn’t recommend gearing that high if you care about motor longevity.
I have a Traxxas Sledge and I know for a fact allllllllll the Traxxas rc cars are 🤩. Nice vid!
Thanks, what's your favourite thing about your Sledge they look like very capable vehicles, where do you drive it?
Totally underrated car! Many thanks for sharing this grest pictures!
My pleasure!
How you adjust the clutch? I didn't know they had a clutch.
What top speed did you get with the 29/83 gearing?
