I Don't Believe in Tsunami

There’s a seismic rumble from far far off
that warns there might be trouble soon to come
but we keep on with work and trade, we play and feast and dance
and ignore the shadow cast across the sun

but I refuse to get out of the way
I’ve got my rights, so here I’ll stay
I don’t believe in tsunami
Oh yes we have our worries about fashion or romance
or whether we should buy another round
but most of us cannot conceive a long term plan
to move our homes and lives to higher ground

seismologists and oceanographers raise the alarm
but there are others with a different view
and without facts we’ll choose who makes us feel good to believe
it doesn’t matter if their tale is true

then it hits, we’re under water, grasping straws to stay afloat
but we’re hoarding toilet rolls and drinking gin
better blame the government, better blame the stars
better still if I had just learned how to swim

What a great new song! I like the change in rhythm and the theme once again is a new take on something we all have in the back of our minds as Islanders near the fault. Coincidentally there was just a flurry of quake activity off the west coast that should alarm us all.

@@hollyontheisland The emotional tsunamis is also difficult to deal with and being in denial of our emotional eruptions is never a long term fix.
