JT you remind me so much of my dad, he was a welder by trade until in his late 40s he bought some land and went from part time farming to a full time farmer. I don't think we ever had a truck that he didn't build the grain bed for it or make them from single axle to tandem. He made his own gravity wagon , pretty much anything made of steel he could build it. Even built a 27 foot boat out of steel. But he never did body work .
Anyway you and the way you do things really brings back some awesome memories. I'm 67 years old and I wish I would have stayed farming. So watching your videos gives me a chance to relive some of the good old days that I was to young and stubborn to enjoy 45 years ago.

yup, the animals were the priority. Not all sheds are good either-- my brother bought at an auction an immaculate low mile car stored in the dirt floor farm shed. he got it home and tried to jack up, the frame was 90% rusted and brittle. We think the fertilizer was kept nearby. This Nasty Massey is possibly rusty from being stored in an active livestock barn, and/or exposed to some other accelerant like fertilizer, manure, silage--some combo including lack of cleaning (some situations are futile to clean). it's gonna live the sweet life, now :)

@@jtsbarnngrill6873 didn't notice but isn't there a bracket at the top that keeps the door from swinging all the way back and bending the hinge like it did? Those pieces get alot of use and are often times the first thing to wear out and break. Btw....Hate seeing you get rid of the Steiger but that's an early factory made unit that was built just a few miles from where I live near Fargo. If you could find one that was built even five years later it would be a huge improvement.

JT something you may have already tried for paint removal is EZ-OFF oven cleaner in the yellow can. It is also great for removing grease and dirt. But will also take paint with it. I used it one time on an ole pickup truck bed and paint washed off with low pressure garden hose. Some paints are harder than others to remove. Just be sure to wear eye and lung protection when spraying and don't spray when wind is blowing at you. Looking forward to watching the rest of the project. Stay warm and stay safe.

Great for bare metal/rust, fills and sands very well. Excellent corrosion resistance. As far as primers go, it’s more affordable than regular 2 part primers that do nothing on bare metal or corrosion resistance
