Hi Paul - thanks very much for the very informative video. Do you think with Pipedrive's recently introduced Campaigns add-on, do you still need to use a 3rd party tool such as Mailchimp to send, for example, drip campaigns and regular newsletters?
@@paulminors also interested in this (is zapier or Outfunnel still needed?). ....and a further question. If an automation (as the example you used) targets contacts who have been moved into the "lost" deals, but then some months later, they actually return to you and become clients, what do you do to remember to stop sending them your "lost" campaign information?
It depends. The Pipedrive Campaigns option is great if you just need a simple email marketing solution. But it's not as powerful as many 3rd party options. I do send quite dynamic emails with conditional content so I use ConvertKit.
@@minor-co Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Having considered your response and spoken to Pipedrive about what campaigns can do, I'm leaning towards using Mailchimp as we already use this for some of our email activity and their automation features seem more user-friendly than Pipedrive's. I guess I also need to look at Outfunnel as I need a 2-way snyc between the two platforms
Hi Paul, Thanks for the video, it was quite informative. I am trying to do ABM campaigns via Pipedrive with help of third party tools like Sales Panel ( 1st party CDP ). I need to set up segmentations, ABM flows for the same how can that be done? Which tools do you recommend. I'll need a lot of data to and fro from lead pipeline, lead score etc to ABM campaign performance via Email. Please bear in mind, I cannot change pipedrive at the moment.
@@minor-co Let me look into the native set up. How ever like you mentioned in David Bloy's comment. The tool isn't as powerful as other 3rd Party tools.
Thanks for providing such great content. One of the problems we have with Pipedrive is the send from email. We have several reps that are assigned to specific organizations and we're finding it difficult to map the owner and the owner's email as the send-from address. We are currently using Campaign Monitor, does Outdrive help with these issues?
Hi Lloyd, I don't think Outfunnel can be configured with custom send from names I'm afraid. But if you use the new Campaigns addon, you can set up multiple send from addresses. Then you could create a workflow automation to send the email as the appropriate rep by using the deal owner in your conditions.
Right now, Pipedrive doesn't support email sequences (but this functionality is coming soon). So some people us AC for email nurture sequences alongside Pipedrive.
Hi Paul, Thank you for this video. I'm looking to trigger an email sequence when an activity happened in Pipedrive (a call). it seems like an activity in Pipedrive can't be a trigger in ActiveCampaign. Would you recommend another tool to do that? Would you create it with Zapier?
Thanks Antoine! Yes, Zapier would be the next best way of doing this. You can use a webhook trigger and then use this to trigger an automation in AC. Let me know if you need help setting this up.
Hi Paul, thanks for the videos! I'd like to ask, which email marketing tool would you say is best to integrate with Pipedrive? Would you lean towards Mailchimp?
Thank you. Helpful video! What would the trigger be if I´d like to move contacts from the nurturing pipe into ActiveCampaign (to nurture the leads in Active Campaign)? Find it really confusing with the triggers and action
In Outfunnel, you need to create a filter that triggers the sync. So you could create a filter to show deals that are in your 'Nurturing' pipeline. That way, when a deal is on that pipeline, the filter will trigger the sync to ActiveCampaign.
@@minor-co Once the contacts are moved from your "lost deals" pipe into Mailchimp, are they deleted from the Pipedrive? or do they remain there, and if they do then you would be having the same contact in your Pipedrive as well as in your CRM tool (which would also affect the budget)? If that's the case do you suggest manually "clean up" the pipe regularly or what would you recommend? :)
No, they stay in Pipedrive. It's just not visible in the default view which only shows open deals. You can search for the deal to re-open it if you ever need to.
Legend! Outfunnel should be giving you commissions for this! :)
They do 👍

I'd recommend including a condition in your workflow to check the status of the deal so you only email deals that are lost.

Have you considered doing this all in Pipedrive using the new Campaigns feature? Might be easier.

New to this and just curious. Why would you need or want both active campaign and pipe drive?

So why do you use that zapier filter between PD and MC? Can't you just zap them directly?
That's just the trigger I chose for this example.

Mailchimp is good. But I actually think ActiveCampaign is a little better as it has more powerful automation options.
Thank you.
