The Elsternwick House transformation blends Edwardian charm with modern living by reorienting the kitchen, living, and dining areas to the north for maximum light and creating flexible, open spaces. Retaining original features like the chimney and a fireplace in the ensuite, the design harmoniously integrates old and new elements. A grand entrance corridor, culminating in a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking a lap pool, marks the threshold between the historic and contemporary sections. Using a robust palette of bluestone, brick, and pale oak, the house balances private and social spaces, providing a practical and inviting environment for a young family.
