I just wanted to chime in this topic although it's six months old. I totally agree and that tells me a lot about your understanding of drums and the double pedal. People must think you can automatic make your left foot work in conjunction with the right foot. The time that it takes to master the double just trying to do clean singles, don't mention doubles and more complicated patterns, will takes years. Look at Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang and try doing what they do, then come talk to me.
You knows whats so funny, when calvins rodgers is tuning his drums and testing them out, the brazilians are lik YEAAAAAAAAAAAA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO............lol
i think every drummer should be comfortable playing a double pedal no matter what genre/style of music you play, just to add more versatility to your playing and so you wont be limited in any way... besides just because its there doesnt mean you have to use it in every single groove you play lol
I get your meaning but I've never wanted a dbl pedal. Drummers should explore new ideas but I've never wanted to go there because I like pushing my right foot to do things that would make someone think i had a dbl pedal. Plus my foot for hi hats needs to be way better. Cheers man and keep on drumming
