Auto Chinon 35mm vs Super-Takumar 35mm | A very quick test

- Recently I bought someone's old camera collection and to my surprise there also was a mint Auto Chinon in the bag (it wasn't listed). Now I didn't need a new 35mm as I'm quite happy with my Takumar 35mm. But since the specs (2.8 vs 3.5) are better I wanted to do a very quick test for myself to see if this Auto Chinon would be better than the great Super-Takumar

Absolutely wonderful sharing!👍
OMG Wowww!😍❤️ Amaaaazing Lenses!🧡🔥🙌 Love the Comparison!🤗💕 This was such an Enjoyable And Fun Video To Watch😊💛✨ Simply LOVE it💖 Keep on Going!!!💙🧿✨
Oh! Good lens comparison review cool.
I don't know much about lenses.. but these look good.. thanks for the review!
Thanks for the comparison.👍💯⌚
This "Auto Chinon" is no where near as good as other 35mm's, but the "tapered" Chinon 35mm f2.8 that's based on the 35mm f2.4 Zeiss Jena Flektogon's 6 elements in 6 groups retrofocus design is fantastic.
thanks, this is news I can use!
Hello
Was there a lens that was not on the purchased list?
you are lucky
I also like the lens.
I would like to use it properly👍👍❣💓
I have never used Chinon lens. Thanks for sharing information.
Nice video 😊
Keep up this incredibly awesome videos! Giving you big big thumbs up as usual!!
I love my Chinon lenses, but my 35mm (which is probably the same model as yours) isn't one that I like so much. That said, I don't use 35mm that much, I tend to leap from 28 to 50 or so mm - in both of those focal lengths I have Chinon's that I love for video because they give a look that I like and not necessarily because they're my best lenses - if that makes sense.
I dug out my 50mm Ricoh f2 after seeing your last video - I think I bought mine brand new in 1985 and pretty much never used it - I've been playing with it recently, it's really sharp, at least compared to some of the older lenses I use, and I'm quite enjoying using it, but it's minimum focusing distance seems a bit long for my liking, plus the aperture ring is the most horrible feeling aperture ring I've ever used - it feels cheap and nasty, and as you pointed out, the end stops for the focusing ring go clunk clunk, it's pretty good optically though, so I'll use it a bit more and maybe even follow your lead and do a video.
Hi Tim, I know you like your Chinon lenses, I think price-quality-wise they are hard to beat. But in this case I prefer the Takumar.
Great to hear you dug out the old Rikenon and have similar experiences with it. It would be nice to see a video about it. Cheers
@@ohjajohh Yeah, your Takumar was clearly better wasn't it, kind of what we all expect from the Takumars now - you'd be shocked if it was terrible!
I was using a lens last week that was the kind that's so soft it's really tricky to focus, you end up going backwards and forwards over and over again, trying to find the sweet spot - I ended up with a nice glowing image that had the look I was going for, but I could probably have made my life easier by using a good lens and adding the glow in photoshop!!!
i have a pentax smc 35mm f3.5 , this lens is very very sharp indeed and has great coatings also .. amazing landscape lens
Nice review video. I don't have Chinon lenses, Beautifully lenses.
Thanks for sharing..!!
New friend here. Wow, that’s a great camera.
awesome comparison between two lenses. both look promising. Takumar looks better. but at the end of the day, it's up to the person whether he/she uses the chinon or Takumar. great review
Nice lens comparison! Thank you for sharing 😊
Nice review. I like my Tak too. Beautifully built. My current fave vintage 35 is a Fujinon-W M42, 35mm f2.8. If you find a cheap copy, it’s a contender.
Takumars are so beautifully made indeed. I haven't tried any vintage Fujinon lens yet, but it's on my wish-list! Thnx for watching
