  • Carp Fishing entertainment at it's best! Sit back and enjoy this epic tale from Mike Willmott about one of the greatest fish in the history of Carp Fishing. Setting out to catch the Black mirror was like going on a cover SAS mission, you had to be ready for a full on assault of blood, sweat and tears.
Also featuring another great chat with Tim Rushmere about our mental health and what we can do to improve and preserve it.

Got to be honest I don’t normally go in for these telling a tale of a capture videos but I’ve always held Mike in high regards and it’s not very often he’s in the media side of things, very much glad I tried it as what a story No b.s just a genuine bloke telling it how it is.. 👍 well done Joe for covering this 👍👍

FINALLY someone who can tell a story, literally 95% of anglers say “you know” “ummm” “erm” “what have you” after every sentence and a whole list of repetitive words, and i just can’t not hear it me im absolutely terrible for it, ruined me many a podcast 😂

Top bloke is Mike. Some good guys fishing that place during that era. I believe James M caught it but never published it, awesome angler that is completely off the radar.

I thought it was Laney there for a minute.
Feel a bit sorry for the black mirror. From a peaceful life to bein chased by the top carp men 24 7.!
The value of its capture surely declines as it starts to get banked regularly. The guy who first had it was the uk carp capture of all time. But after 19 captures in a few years i cant help feelin a bit sorry for it and cant really be excited with the tale of its capture. Well done tho stil. I aint sayin id not love to have caught it!

Nineteen captures in nearly twenty years, and rarely more than a handful of dedicated anglers on forty odd acres....

@@kevinwinter7050 i wasnt aware it was over such a long time span. I concede i may have been a little harsh!
Mike mentioned the "undesirables" leavin bivvies set up. He didnt mention he got some local hard men to chuck them off the venue! This was mentioned in his book.
