Am Ugandan. Watching your videos is satisfying I must say, very insightful. For someone who is coming to study In Boston next January I feel good having found your account! Thank you Ama. You are doing a good job.
Amara, thank you for the video! I am also an international student who got accepted into grad school and now trying to calculate my finances, your channel is really helpful!
You're welcome! Keep in mind that the numbers I shared are for living in Boston and these will vary from state to state and even between different cities in the same state.
No rumbling, just concise 👌. Keep it Amara. Could you please share with me the websites you finally landed your apartment? Thank you soo much. You gotta a new subscriber 😊from Ghana 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Very great content.. well-done Amarachi… What listing did you get your apartment from. I’m kinda stuck here and I’d be resuming by fall. Don’t really know the go on how to go about securing an apartment
Thanks for watching! I found my place on apartment[dot]com. I also looked on sites like trulia and zillow. Facebook is also a good place to use. You could either check for groups targeted at students in your university or use Facebook marketplace. Since you’re not presently in the US, change your location to where you will be living so you can see options available in that area. I hope this helps and good luck with your search!
Yea, the Boston area is pretty expensive but I don’t think there’s an average stipend because it depends on lots of different factors such as the school/department, whether you’re a Masters or PhD student etc. I just know that most schools take the cost of living in the area into consideration and provide a stipend that is enough to cover your very basic needs.
I second it's worth researching on and sharing a video about it. Maybe interview students from other schools including MS and PhD to get an insight into stipends from an RA/TA/GA positions. Thanks for this video
I know I already responded on IG but I’ll respond here again for others who might have the same question. Yes, you’ll be allowed to work on an F1 visa. However, it can only be on campus and for a maximum of 20 hours per week during the semester or 40 hours per week in summer. Honestly, it’s pretty limiting but you have that option.
There’s a closet in Chinatown renting for $1,200 right now. Not a bad deal, easy access to restaurants as the closet is located in the back of a local restaurant. Only downside is that you must sleep standing up since there’s not too much room. Hahaha

Interesting... How is it like for someone coming to study at Brandeis University?
Hi. I can’t say because I don’t study there. Maybe you could try checking Linkedin to see people who study there and reach out to them.
Brandeis is in the suburbs, like 30min outside Boston. So if you have a car it’s chill and rent is much better in those towns around there.
wow Boston is expensive. Please what network are you subscribed to for your phone... It looks cool for 4gig data monthly...
Yep. Boston is crazy expensive. I use mint mobile. You can get it here fbuy.me/tJNKS

Please which state in USA is best for international students to live in, especially those doing health course
Please
Massachusetts has some of the best hospitals in the country so I assume Boston is ideal. But it is expensive here
@@JaredFleischer alright thanks so much 🙏🙏
@@JaredFleischeryou get what you pay for
Don't come here. The medical sucks here n my state
Wow it's extremely expensive
4gb per month is crazy!!
Well, there’s wifi everywhere I go so I mainly use the mobile data when commuting so 4gb is enough.
Jesus
For a month
And I’m complaining about 850-900 rent in Atlanta 😭
🤧if I see 850 rent, Shebi I’ll be happy 😂
