Thank you! I’m drafting an email to them shortly. Sending them some suppliers I’ve worked with the in the SLS printing and low volume soft tool injection molding space before. If no response, I’ll probably eventually take matters into my own hands 😅
…. 🙈 …. It’s actually fully welded from aluminum square tubing. A little lighter than extrusion and way way cheaper if you know how to weld. But yes you are right if I didn’t know how to weld I would definitely still build this electrical cabinet out of extrusion because of the weight it needs to hold!
Yeah… I’m not sure how many people had to approve that going in the box but really surprised not one person at the company spoke up. Especially now with 3D printers so ubiquitous in house holds today. A lot more people are educated about the quality that can be achieved even at home. Anyways drafting an email to them and this video.
Definitely an other useful video as always from you. Seeing you struggling with the plastic tabs from the OEM shroud, I saw someone on Instagram spraying some silicone grease before prying. Don't know if it works but worth trying.
That's an interesting tip! The top two clips on the passengers side really fought me. The problem is you have to lever them up but they also pass through a slot in the bumper so it's hard to get your tool in there to push it up enough to clear the mating clip. Anyways, yeah it might be worth a shot for others to try something like this. Do they use a solvent afterwards to remove the residue?
Another great video. When are you going to make the video showing how you are going to switch between house and engine battery with your stereo system? I need help.... lol
Thank you. Honestly, not sure on this one. I’m always limited by the two great equalization variables. Time & Money. I do know that I’ve decided to put a dedicated house Marine deck in the back of the van. So right now the plan is to be able to not only switch the power but also the inputs. I have my eyes on a Mini-DSP to help with the inputs and then relay or diode for power.
Hey there, thank you. Yeah it's coming along slow and steady. Really finding it hard to find the time to work on stuff with everything else life has going for us right now, but chipping away at it when I can. When you mean you got a license for the road what are you referring to?
@@moonrakerdesign I bought my van from another country, so i should have payed lot of taxes for it, but if you build it as a motorhome its taxfree. So now i have everything needed for a motorhome, licence for it and no taxes. I can drive it and sell my other van to get more money to finish my project. I have stil lot of work to do!
Another great video! I will install those but not until I’m further along in my build. Hopefully they will have improved the design by then?🤞Thanks for the detailed info. as always ! 👍
I really do like the lights, there’s one more change I’m working on swapping out the silver screws on the face plate for black stainless ones. I doubt they’ll listen but sure hope they do!
Exactly. That would be a better option than what they are providing. I’d also like to make a few adjustments. There’s a small gap on the bottom of both sides bothering me already. Maybe I’ll do that if I can find some time.
Just found your RUclips channel and subscribed, your videos are very instructive. Just curious, I was on your website and there are quite a few out of stock items. Are those going to be replenished, or will you make more if requests are made?
Hey thanks a bunch! I'm glad you found the channel and also appreciate the sub! It really helps us out. Yeah, we've been trying to keep stuff in stock, it's just my wife and I making and shipping out the parts right now on top of full time jobs and a newborn (4 months ago) so it's been a little slow. I'm hoping by the end of the year things will be stable and everything will be back in stock. Right now we are crossing them off the list one by one based on waitlist demand. I hope this helps and thanks again!

Todd is the man! Nice hat boo!
Hey Thomas! Thanks my guy! I picked it up from some dude in an abandoned shipyard last year ;)
Great, Keep requesting Quality !

Don't think we didn't notice the extruded framing in the back of your van😊
I guess we'll see more of that coming up in another video... Can't wait!

@@moonrakerdesign I'm so excited, I just peed a little. Now I need to learn how to weld aluminum. New rabbit hole opened.
100% agree, and the engineer has spoken :) (Todd). You would think that Baja would do better for that shroud.

I agree however I’m sure you will improve upon it first! And you already are!😄
Give us the .STL so we can print it ourselves with a good printer.

does this come pre-aligned?
If you line up the brackets and the lights square it’s pretty close.
Can you share the link for the pins and seals you uses? thx.
