Champasak - Laos, the Wat Phu is on the world Heritage list since 2001. Most of it are ruins, some restaurations are going on, but with very few workers.It was founded in the 5 th century and was designed as a worldly imitation of heaven. It is beautifully situated at a slope of a hill, which means a lot of climbing in the heat of the day.
