Since we live, right now in the "Age of Weak Men", I've started to learn more honor and loyalty. Truth is important if you to be a Honorable man. Thank you. Your channel will be added to my learning process.

careful with the big words. if you're not discerning, they become a prison instead of releasing you. Ideally, honor and loyalty refer to the same thing. Honor is basically a debt that needs to be paid, and loyalty refers to actually doing your dues, and obeying as told. But you will need to consider carefully the debts you'll take on, and how much of your personal freedom you will throw away in that process. Be careful to not sell your soul to impress people who aren't worth it. In fact, in my life, I noticed no one really deserves it. But your life is up to you to decide.

Bushido by Inazo Nitobe and Bushido by Hagakure are different. The code of the warrior was not fearing death, being mentally strong and practicing martial arts.
    0:42 What is Bushido?
    1:38 7 rules of Bushido
    2:48 Bushido and martial arts
3:20 The story of 47 ronin
5:35 Bushido in the American army
6:06 Bushido in eyes of the Westerners
7:59 Bushido during World War 2
    8:26 Bushido vs. Chivalry

In judo, "to not fear death" allows you to attack and not worry about hiding in a defensive posture and therefore allow you to be more likely to defeat the opponent as opposed to just withstanding them. Also if you are going to counter attack you need to be willing to let the opponent initiate an action without just running away...
To know 1 thing is to know 10'000. You must research this diligently. - miyumoto musashi
Also side note, aside from literally 1 instance wich is pretty vague, chivalry didn't have much to do with women. It was more focused on tactics and codes for capturing hostages and etc.
And it was illegal in rome to commit suicide as a soldier.

This is one classical case where philosophical principles were twisted to serve someone in power. The idea of "embracing death" of bushido is the opposite of the one in taoism or buddhism. Bushido embraces death to never surrender, to never give victory to their opponents. They rather die than accept defeat. An act of ultimate resistance. On the other hand, Tao/buddhism embrace death as an act of surrender, as in their view, there would be no one to surrender and nothing to be surrounded about. They go into battle with the idea they already had lost everything. Bruce Lee and Miyamoto Musashi got it exactly that way as well. But then, in Musashi's case, he was a ronin, not a samurai, which explains the issue: bushido was an instrument to brainwash warriors into extreme loyalty to their lords, to the extent they would feel they didn't deserve to live in case they failed. This is a perversion of all philosophies to guarantee submission. Machiavelli would be impressed.

Thank you for this very informative video! It makes me really want to read the book on Hagakure.
And, you made me realize that all of these were done in the name of serving the Daimyo. As a person who generally has a rebellious nature, it makes me very interested and learning more about Ronins.

I believe strongly in bushido it is something I try to live by when I was younger I did many stupid and sometimes dishonorable things A friend told me About bushido and how this philosophy could help me to become A better person but it also taught me to overcome my fears even to the point of not fearing death one time I heard some people were attacking A friend of mine without hesitation I jumped up and ran to help this friend I managed to fight of the attack but got stabbed 7 times on me the way to the hospital my friend asked me why I had come and why I kept fighting even after being stabbed my answer was bushido my friend asked what do you mean I said you are my friend for this I love you forever as my friend you are loyal so I Am loyal to you I heard you need help so I came to help to I keep fighting because I wanted to save you because I love you my friend with tears in their eyes wrapped their arms around me they then asked but what is bushido I said it A warriors way the way of A samurai they then said to me you are A samurai loyal to all he cares for in which I said it was my honor to serve you my friend my love for my friend is what kept me fighting even after being stabbed more than once the fake I would lay down my life for them now that is bushido that what it means to me to serve the ones we love even if that means to die for them I still have scare from that day but I wear them with honor know I would do anything for those I love and those that love me Bushido to me is not just not fear death it's having something worth dying for your family and friends the people that mean everything to you that is bushido that is the warriors way the way of A samurai

“I denounce bushido” dude never ran with it as I’m pretty sure RUclips fame is a vain pursuit.the code is a reflection of every philosophy and religion. Generally, every text on how to live your life has the same general bullet points. Christianity has the commandments. The perfect path is what everyone strives for despite belief system.

There is evidence that the implementation of Bushido were Japanese propaganda to make the populace proud again. This is supposed to also include Ninjas as artificial constructs as well. Zen was also property of the nobels. Whereas pureland and Nichiren were for the mainstream/peasants. I'm also surprised you didn't mention Samurai Koans, coded Zen mind tricks for mental preparation.

And/or... (and even see today) the élite in power where glad you believed in sacrifice for their benefit; they wanted more land, power, wanted revenge (on another mafia) so you got to die for their benefit. But keep believing it was honorable!

I think he means to say he rejects "modern" Bushido in favor of its older form. He rejects the writings of Inazo Nitobe in favor of Hagakure by Tsunemoto Yoshitomo, which he feels is more historically grounded...?

I’m not any kind of expert or even knowledgeable about Japan, Bushido, Japanese culture (now and past)… but you can absolutely tell that this KID doesn’t give a damn about what his guests are saying or talking about. All of the boredom and physical mannerisms give it all away. All for the views and the likes. Do better if you actually want people to take you and your content seriously. I’d rather follow and contribute to your guests ideas, knowledge and experience than you.
I hope you take this as constructive criticism and respect, then use that to move forward
