    People who don't own the truck are not OO. They are employees who pay all the bills.

    If more of these “owner operator rental customers” would watch content like you put out - true perspective from an actual owner operator - this whole business would be in a better place.

    excellent video. to the point. i was a company driver for 12 years and an OO for 6 years. just by paying attention to the company i drove for i learned a lot of the ins and outs of the freight business. after 6 years with my own authority, i sold three trucks and trailers and retired.

    Can't agree more, I actually work at the Loko.. and talk with drivers.. you get what you put in. When I went there I spent 45mins to read contract I know the fees are on high side, But 1. Not all fees are for entire length of contract, some just like 90 days or until you reach a total amt. 2. Even when you have repair if you just talk to them often times they will work with you. I went in knowing my plan, and I have no plan on staying the whole time. Getting my Authority is ultimate goal and this just stepping stone, cuz I'm getting my spot market experience. Avg about 1200 right now, after some fees go away should be 1500 or more it is spot market after all no week is ever the same

    From what I understand it wasn't just the fee's it was that the company was screwing these drivers out of their deposits when they left the company. It happened to Trucking with Selena and others

    • @starcardave339
      @starcardave339  5 лет назад

      Mr M i get it. This particular fella already had that information. He STILL decided to go to Traveloko and NOT read his contract. He even stated he transposed or misread some numbers. He only gave it two weeks before quitting. What kind of data can you get in two weeks at a self dispatch company?
      I don’t feel bad for Trucking with Selena. They don’t know what they are doing. They took a chance and it didn’t work out. Running a team is not easy on the spot market. If they stuck it out and found a direct customer, they could have made a play at having their own authority.
      They ultimately decided to stay a point and click team at Landstar. No shame in that. Not the best oportunity out there either. Everyone has their own risk tolarance, and level of loss aversion to deal with.

    One point I think ya missed is ya needed to average 4500 gross a week to stay at 73% . If ya went home for a week or even a few days ya wouldn't gross that 4500 and the % would go down to 65% I didn't hear any bitching about going home and still hafta make a truck or fee payment. Was about the loss of % when ya missed the 4500 gross.

    • @starcardave339
      @starcardave339  5 лет назад

      FISH TEXAS I didn’t hear that in his video. It must be in the contract too if that’s the case right?
      Might be tough to do. I do about $5k-6k a week and get 80% of that on full weeks out.
      Carriers are always looking to find ways to get more productive Owner ops. Dropping to 65% would certainly cut my home time if I agreed to such a compensation plan.

      @@starcardave339 it was first brought to light that he was the guinea pig for the new contract traveloko was starting in a lil guy video. A all in rate of 73% except the deposits n fees if you maintained 4500 gross per week. Miss it an it drops. Great content tho. Nice to finally watch some trucking vids that aren't all about what somebody else is doing.

    And, because I am in my office and I have time, here's a little more for all of you...
    Don't drink it...
    I repeat, DO NOT drink it, but if you're cooking steak, use Bourbon!!
    Marinate it or cook it with Bourbon!
    Crude oil... beef... and Bourbon!!!
    Crude oil... beef... bourbon... Western Star 5700XE trucks, and... four-wheel-drive dually pickups... diesels!!!
    Damn right!!
    Cattle, bourbon, and diesel!!!
    And don't forget... Trump2020!!!
    Be careful folks... don't park with the masses; stay away from the idiots!
    Here's a little tip - if you're in an area where there is a sale barn or a livestock stockyards, pull in there, find a nice out-of-the-way corner... and park; shut your lights OFF!!
    But, don't park anywhere near any action; stay away from the loading chutes.
    Find an area maybe way in the back and shut the lights off!
    And, if you wake up and find that there's a restaurant in the sale barn (and it's open)... you're going to have the best breakfast that you've ever had in your entire life!
    Stay away from the masses!
    Happy trails, little kiddies!!
