Hi Paul just found this video and so glad I did it’s a very special place I’m from Innisfail so been through there a few times then came cyclone Yasi I thought that’s the end of that track a year later I went up to have a look You could only drive to the first bridge there were motorbike tracks to the second bridge that was as far as you could go I went back each weekend for two months cutting through to the hut I didn’t want this track to be lost forever Watching you guys using the track and exploring the river is the reason I opened it back up Cheers Mick from Innisfail 👍😎
Thanks for your efforts. I wasn't expecting the road to be open. Some friends went down there last week and said they could still drive to the shack on the Tully. The road beyond the Tully crossing is completely overgrown.
Hi Lawrence, glad you liked it. It was one of the most interesting things I've done over recent years. Nothing left of old mining areas. I have had a look around as I think I know approximately where they were but nothing. Which guy/picture were you referring to?
@@mbb6740 The hut is at the end of the road where the old, big bridge is on the Tully River. I think it was a forestry hut and I am surprised it is still standing. The road beyond the bridge which used to come out at Kirrama is pretty much gone. The road into the hut won't last much longer unless someone spends money on the road and bridges - which is unlikely.
incredible part of the world. awesome vid

@@MrBENTPIN have been down the Wall Ck Rd a few times but not all the way through. Thought it may have ended up in private property.
@@paulofthenauth yeah its a nice drive. Comes out near blenco. Takes a while.
Man thank you for this video haven't been able to find any info about this track area plan on walking up to the Tully quite soon!
This is exactly what I wanted to see. Where was that guy approximately? Is there much of the old Culpa town left that you saw?

Paul Curtis oh cool. I live in Tully so it’s my backyard. That was meant to say Hut

Paul Curtis do you mean Cochable creek camping area?
@@mbb6740 No, this area is only accessible from the Ravenshoe/Koombooloomba area. This is the upper Tully river above the dam as per the video.
