It's not var that's the problem it's the officials running it they were terrible without var so I don't know why people thought the officiating would be better with it.
Such a beautiful stadium, as an Irishman I'd love to see such stadia over here, only what.. Shamrock Rovers and Cork City could compete against such a ground, forget my Waterford :/ Another class video btw lad ^^
Was at the game last night, the Miovski penalty award was a very strange one. They just announced a VAR check but nobody knew which end it was at. Very confusing for a couple of minutes there, as the ball had been at both ends within the space of a minute or two before the VAR check. I thought we were poor in the first half, second half was much better. At the end Aberdeen were throwing everything at it and had 5 attacking players on after bringing on Besuijen, Ramirez and Watkins. We tried hard to score an equaliser and were really close a few times, but it just wouldn't go in.
Was at that game (livi fan) var has been a shambles is scotland imo, not one of those penalties was appealed by players or fans when the handballs happened, the bigger issue is how long its taking though. Great result for us and great what you are doing with the channel featuring wee clubs like ours
From your footage it looked like a very good match. As for VAR, some delays or mistakes can be forgiven in Scotland when this system is completely new there. Here in the Czech Republic, we have had VAR for 5 years and yet errors and delays are the order of the day. Two weeks ago, a relatively big match was played in the Czech Republic between Viktoria Plzeň and Sparta Praha. In it, Pilsen striker Tomáš Chorý hit Sparta defender Asger Sorensen with his head. The referee didn't have to see it at that speed, but it was a complete shock to everyone that even VAR didn't alert the referee. Even after the match, the Pilsen striker did not receive any additional punishment and was able to start in the next match. I can understand if VAR makes a small mistake, but if sometimes it can't even protect the health of the players, then what's the point of it? We have a lot of experience with VAR in the Czech Republic. Definitely don't expect it to help every time in Scotland either.
I'm from Brunei, thats like +8 hours from Scotland, I discover your channel few weeks ago an I never miss any of it, from where I come from its hard to get coverage of Scottish football. I am a big fan of Celtic since Larsson and Nakamura's freekick against ManU made me a die-hard fan. Thank you for covering the premiership and Scottish football, I love every video of yours.
Good luck on your travels, just back from my second A league tour. Quite a few var decisions in the games attended there as well. From the tranmere fan
Correct by the referee to keep the player booked, correct decision with the rules. Its actually one of the only parts of it that currently makes sense, there was still intent to stop a dangerous attack. Same rule in england. The problem is communication like why is everyone ready to take the freekick, then he takes it then the ref goes over ?
Livi used be Meadowbank but moved lock stock and barrel to Livingston from Edinburgh and changed their name. As usual there is much more to it than that, well documented elsewhere, but that is the simple answer ...
Well, I am glad you enjoyed the match Sam, but for me that was just not football. Personally I simply cannot watch a live match on TV where VAR is used and I certainly would never pay to attend a match and put myself through all that nonsense. I feel sorry for fans of SPFL clubs having to suffer all that confusion now, I used to watch alll the highlights of the division each week not knowing the scores, but I had difficulty working out what the result was after the first week of it ! I will stick with the Lower leagues thank you. I can tolerate watching MOTD as it deals with the issues arising quite well and the pundits mostly seem anti-VAR making their case against its faults very well, but the bottom line is that referees are human and make mistakes - and I am sure 90% of true fans understand that and would rather have errors made, which even themselves out through the season, than letting our beautiful game be ruled by technology for technologies sake. Ditch VAR and bring back spontaneous passion !!
Livingston were extremely lucky to hold on to a win. Most of those going for 2-2 or 2-1 were spot on. Both teams just have 40 min spells in games where they just can't play football for some reason.
What are the Aberdeen fans chanting after they score? Just as they're kicking off. Genuinely curious as it's a great tune! If anyone knows can you drop us a line below!!
I watched a YT upload of Hibs playing in the 1970s. Think 1973 and against Hearts. The Hibs fans were singing something to the tune of Laurel and Hardy. Whatever it was, it seemed to work really well.
No idea how Livvy managed to survive that. By all accounts it was a bit of an on slot for 60 minutes. VAR will sort itself out, it's only been in place for a few weeks. The bigger concern in Scottish football is these artificial pitches, they should be nowhere near the top league.
Should VAR be scrapped in Scotland?
100%
Not even a question
It's not var that's the problem it's the officials running it they were terrible without var so I don't know why people thought the officiating would be better with it.
No it shouldn’t it sometimes helps and sometimes it’s just because of the VAR officials
Scottish refs are bad enough without power glory officials deciding incidents players, never mind fans, never appealing for.
Great to have you along Sam! Hopefully see you back at the Mac soon. 🙌🏼
Love your video and as a livingston fan listening from Dorset on the radio it was great to see this. thank you.

Not sure you'll be allowed back to our away games 👀🤣
Livingston are difficult to beat at home, another good watch 👍.

great meeting you and being in the video 5:50

link for that dad/lad channel?
Can you correct me; would I be right that Meadowbank Thistle used to play there before changing the name to Livingston or did both teams combine

what a game
That is a magnificent result! 👌
Livi is like a second home for you! 👏

Such nice polite folk in this video..
Pls Go to trammonford park in Wigtown it’s the home of Wigtown & bladnoch fc
i was at the game sad i didn’t see you i was with the singing livi group
The penalties are all ridiculous, don't think any of them should have been given
So are you trying to say, handball is allowed by outfield players?
Livingston were extremely lucky to hold on to a win. Most of those going for 2-2 or 2-1 were spot on. Both teams just have 40 min spells in games where they just can't play football for some reason.

Ultras Aberdeen

200k subs this year for sure
The officials take way too long to check the var. It's a joke in Scotland.
VAR is absolutely ruining Scottish football
No idea how Livvy managed to survive that. By all accounts it was a bit of an on slot for 60 minutes. VAR will sort itself out, it's only been in place for a few weeks. The bigger concern in Scottish football is these artificial pitches, they should be nowhere near the top league.
Very unlucky not to get a point
come see Arniston rangers on Saturday the 13th against St. Andrews please i will be there!
my guess is you are going to qatar
|Knowing Sam, he's probably going to be filming Albanian non-league games.
Games like this do nothing for the credibility of the Scottish Premiership. The booking was a very strange decision.
hahah big up East Calder 😅 i grew up there
qatar press pass ?
I really hope you’re off to Qatar to tour the stadiums. Not that im watching the world cup but id watch your videos
The handball rule needs to be changed as having your hands in front is not a natural position and Livingston score first goal from it
What your saying is your going to the World Cup to do some videos
Do you take your partner with you on your travels sam
Yes it should
Your going to the world Cup aren't you ya jammy bugger 😁🤣
I hope you’re not going to prison
No
Don't do Qatar mate
Go to hearts rangers
it's Qatar Isn't it
Going away ? Exciting plans? Don't tell me your getting a real job ?
