I can’t understand what they are saying and I have to translate everything into English to understand. It prevents me from conversing. I’ve been studying Portuguese for 8 years now and I’ve visited Brazil 18 times but most everything sounds like gibberish. It’s been very frustrating. I study and practice every day. I’ve been practicing with my girlfriend for over 5 years now and she only speaks Portuguese. I need to find a way to learn without translating everything into English.
