Possibly. It will be a challenge, though, since most of the Present and Future songs in the US version don't really sound related to each other like they do in the Japanese version (Collision Chaos and Metallic Madness are notable exceptions). But I am feeling up to challenge (for now, at least)
It's interesting how desolate this mix sounds despite taking place in the past. Really shows how the majority of ecosystem was already destroyed in order to make room for the new technologies Eggman needs to expand his empire.
It does sound like it has notes of hope in it though too. It's as though it's telling Sonic things are starting off bad, but hope is alive for a better tomorrow.
It's interesting because, according to the D.A. Garden map of Little Planet, Metallic Madness is most likely the floating green base we see there. Not sure how much of the ecosystem was destroyed by that, though. Maybe the music reflects more on the despair that the Little Planet inhabitants must have felt as they see their home being taken from them. If we think about it, Eggman's invasion didn't start as he invaded Little Planet. His influence was present many years before that, in the Past!
I like how you can hear power tools in the background when listening to this theme. Considering that Metallic Madness Past is supposedly under construction, this fits so well! Even better than the JP version if you ask me.
Atmospheric wise, the US themes fit better for the zone. The JP ones are great but these ones really home in that Eggman can outright turn Little Planet into a dark place to reside in.
After listening to this again, this sets the mood for Metallic Madness. It's an evil place to begin with. It's like waking up late. Things are off to a bad start, yet there's sounds of hope like things can be changed.
Too much of a subjective take, but not a bad hypothesis. Though the reason this fits here is simple: Metallic Madness is under construction. It's not that big of a deal for Sonic, who's after the remaining robot generators. While the choirs in the background indirectly or directly convey the call of help from the inhabitants of Little Planet as Robotnik is slowly but easily taking over their home.
I love the original past theme, but this has a fitting calm before the storm feel to it. The original sounds more like Robotnik was scheming all of his mad plans for the world here. As Ultrasun 2000 put it, this version really fits the mindset of looking for the final robot generator in the most dangerous area.
Sounds really like it would fit the mindset of searching for the final robot generator and feels tense and atmospheric, as all should be in US Metallic Madness. Personally, I would have gone for a more fast-paced and determined-sounding remix, but this works better honestly. I look forward to more of these in the future. By the way, as some advice, I’ve noticed some things all US themes for each Round have in common which you may want to incorporate. Palmtree Panic, Collision Chaos and this are easily recognizable and should work well, Tidal Tempest, has the vocals in different styles for each one, Quartz Quadrant has the same drums, Wacky Workbench has a vague shared melody you really have to listen closely for, and Stardust Speedway has a set of guitar riffs most noticeable in the Bad Future Theme.
This actually sounds really good. I could honestly see this having been an actual Past theme for Metallic Madness if they had completed the full US soundtrack.
With a sonic cd mod loader you can put these back into the 2011 verison of the game by renaming the files to the past names. (this although does mean if you ever wanted the jp soundtrack at some point you would have to disable the mod first before launching) In the 1996 pc verison. You can even just straight up drag the music files into the folder and make sure once again the names match the past themes names in the folder. No mods needed and they automatically work.
@@chromxrobinandcorrinxcamil9031 gamebanana.com/tools/6446 that's for the mod loader. Then make a mods folder inside the game installation. Unforetuantly I forgot rest as of this moment but ill reply again when I find out what I did
This one is the best of your past mixes, alongside Palmtree Panic. Overall I liked them all and I thank you for making them, but I feel that - in spirit of the more "serious" vibe the US OST had - this one feels extremely fitting.
Absolutely brilliant. I must say that this interpretation of MM Past US is near accurate to what the composers would've made if they were given more time to create the music. While the original JP Past version sounds like generic battle music, your theme truly captures the intensity of both MM past levels. Might I add that this theme actually fits the "end is near" description perfectly? Very fitting for those who decide to spend the majority of their time in the past to destroy the generator and earn the good ending. Some parts do sound calm (the string chords at 1:02 & 1:19 and the ending), while others are dark (like that running electric piano instrument in the background and the choir chorus). Ever since I heard your concept, I always made sure to mute the original and play this on top.
Hey some new news was found out apparently parts of the past US themes were actually made. But we're scrapped because Sega Japan Wanted some Japanese representation of the themes.
Oh my god, I always wanted remixes like these but I thought it was too niche for anyone to bother doing. Really glad to see I was wrong, this is amazing :0
I love the way this sounds. It's tense, signaling the oncoming final confrontation with Robotnik, but it's just a bit hopeful towards the end, pushing you to get those last robot generators to free the future.
If I were to explain how I feel about this song is that metallic madness is unfinished and your trying to find the robot generator in the heart of Robotnick’s Territory
This is so haunting. Almost as if no matter what you do... Metallic Madness will always be completed and Robotnik will always in some way or another succeed.
I can'ttell if this was made in pcm or not, because rhis song is actually really great, but it just doesn't feel like pcm with some sections In conclusion, yes it would have sounded like that, but much lower quality
Metallic Madness was built to be a nightmare, but as Sonic the Hedgehog, you can turn this desolate nightmare into a bright dream blessed by sunlight and nature.
This just sounds really epic. Hopeful as well. It's as if it's saying that a better future starts in the past. Find and destroy the robot generator today for a better tomorrow.
To be honest, this reminds of a metallic tropical coast. This is actually very nice, because after all the fact was under construction. Anyways, I love it!
Great job! I guess I would've liked to see a bit more motif from the other versions than what's already here, but I get that it has much less reason to sound as "metallic".
Metallic madness past:A small place with a lot of vegetation eggman decided to make its base because it was a small vegetation just being grass would be easier to control so the vegetation disappeared and the base materialized.
P: The Zone is quite Metallic but not quite Madness yet. Sonic casually searches for the generators and projectors so Robotnik's plan for world domination doesn't come true.
i only have to ask, why is the next video in the playlist "10 tips for buying a laptop! (2020)"? The music's great and all, but that's pretty confusing chief
Robotnik expands his empire- it is becoming bigger at the second… this world depends on you. Will you destroy the generator and save the world? Or will you let it all go to waste? It is within your grasp- the good future- so close-
That wouldn't make any sense. The whole idea behind the Good Future is that you're going back in time and changing history to prevent the Bad Future from coming to be
I maintain my position on the JP soundtrack being superior to the American. However, the American Version of Stardust Speedway and Metallic Madness do stand out from the others for actually being good. These musics should be featured more.
I have always wondered about this myself. It would make alot of sense. Btw KingMeteor, what is your most favorite zone song in all of Sonic CD (Japanese or American, Past, Present, or Future)?
Wow, that's tough! I think I have to go with the first one that really blew my mind, which is Stardust Speedway Bad Future US. But, seriously, there's so much great music in both soundtracks, I really can't pick a definitive favourite
Imagine if they did a remake of Sonic CD and that it had both the soundtracks arranged from the Japanese/European versions as well as the American version respectively, as well as the original soundtracks from the Japanese/European versions as well as the American version respectively. And in the case of the soundtrack arranged from the American version, it has its own themes from the past for each level that did not have the original soundtrack.
