In the wet, it is damn near impossible to climb, we went there last year to have a look but not climb as we had beginners with us and it looked ok. We went there last month, bit National Parks closed all access to the area.
Great vid, mate. It's nice to see The Mighty Mitzi doing stuff it wasn't designed to. I have a feeling you could drive on your steam a bit more, but the guys were too afraid to let you know. Well, winching is fun.
Cheers bud. Yeah they are alittle more capable then what people think. Only reason we weren't driving harder was to prevent the track to be torn up. Easier to winch then to destroy a wet track or worse the rig.
@@Brgnalf81 main reason I havent done one is we don't like to promote what we have specifically on and in our rigs. Never know who is watching the videos. If you have a instagram just hit me up on there with a PM, Im more then happy to let you know. 👍
given what you've seen / experienced so far, can you give a bit of a rundown as to where the heavier bricks show up the challenger and why they would be a possible "upgrade"?
"Heavier bricks" haha Love that. Main difference is the solid axle front end, they don't lift front wheels like us. As well they are able to throw bigger lift due to the different suspension with better articulation, that and bolt 35s and 37s easier to them. Apart from that they are very similar and capable, some say with the Challengers shorter wheel base they are more capable as we can maneuver better more and we aren't as heavy.
@@DestinationOffroad Weight plays in quite heavily in my experience. seems people slog behing the cruisers n poorolls because of their towing capabilities and how you can just smash 2 tonnes of fridges solar panels etc on them and they go just as fast, but as always stuff eventually breaks. cost vs function the challenger series seems to be more than worth the investment, lifting a wheel but still making it just as far, if not further? and being easier to recover due to light weight, cheaper parts etc cant really go wrong

@@DestinationOffroad sounds like a bad ol time man. half the fun owning a cheaper 4wd is knowuing you can have a little fun now and then knowing you wont have to take out a second mortgage of the 4 people i know with 100/ 76 / 79s cruisers, none of them enjoy 4wding any more, its all about how much shit they can pack in it to glamp
what psi where you running on the 80 ? He needs time behind the wheel . He had the first obstacle twice and twice he let go just before completing it ... nice 4x4s ... Im running a 2001 challenger twin locked with 33''
Not to sure what psi he was running. Oh he has enough time behind the wheel and he has done that track before a few times. The conditions on the day were abit different though and we were being careful not to break the rigs or destroy the track.
@@DestinationOffroad if you are running 265/75 their are close to 31.5'' true . I am runnign 285/75 ( 32.8 '' ) and saw a massive difference in ground clearance ... it does require a 2'' bodylift and a 2'' suspension lift though
you guys are amizing , this is the most insane hard-core journey I've ever seen, really expands my vision >

if this taught anyone anything, its that challies are much easier to winch up a hill and go just as far lol
Hahaha the only thing that stopped was clearance. I didn't struggle with weight but just got hung up on the massive rocks.
@@DestinationOffroad so what you rekn you would have needed to traverse that climb without the winch?
